Jan. 23rd, 2021

It did rain this morning and just a little bit more tonight. Looking at the radar it doesn't look like we are going to get any more rain tonight although the hourly forecast does show a decent chance of rain beginning about 3:00 am and extending for a few hours. I looked at my rain gauge just a little while ago and for the two days of rain I show less than a tenth of an inch of rain. Was just a little bit colder today but tomorrow shows an unbelievable high of 77°F. And this is January. Looks like decent shop time for about the next four days or so then one day maybe a bit too cold and then back to good shop weather. Nothing much more in the way of rain forecast past Monday for the rest of January. Today is the 23rd. The next full moon is going to be on the 28th.

Forgot about the launch of the Falcon 9 this morning again. But it was scrubbed. Don't see a new date for it. Next Falcon 9 is the 27th though. Don't seem to make it up in time for these early morning launches. Forgot about the last two chances to watch the Falcon 9 but both days didn't launch so I still have another chance.

Wanted to listen to the rain hitting my sky light but wasn't heavy enough to hear.

Gold and Crude didn't trade today so there won't be anything to talk about tonight. Long long ago gold had a fixed price of $32 per troy ounce. Look how far it is come. Well that price was more than 50 years ago. Things do change.

Didn't do any project work today. Might try to do some project work since it might be too cold to be in the shop this Thursday.

Fozzy hasn't been here tonight.

Just YouTube Videos and just a bit of the Curse of Oak Island for viewing pleasure tonight.

Did do a little house work. Cleaned up the kitchen and loaded the dishwasher and ran it.

Mainly did wood working. Finally cut the support slots in the side panels. Took a long time to line everything up. Got one of them sanded. Got to get those right or the drawers won't fit. Stained the raised panels and put together the end panels. Found a solution to my drawer problem. Couldn't get the pine I wanted because of the very high delivery charge and I would have to plane it down to half inch so I though I would check and see what I could find in poplar. I found some half inch by 6in by 2 ft. Close enough but I can only get one side out of each board. Lots left over but reasonable priced and inexpensive to get delivered. So I bought 9 of them. That will be plenty to do my drawers. The best thing is that they are already a half an inch thick.

Tired tonight.

LOL cats tomorrow. Always look forward to that.

Ashley sent me something she made for me ages ago. So very cute and it joins my Nick Knack book case. I think I am going to add another shelf to it. Kind of running out of space.

Put up the shop early and got the car already put up. Not on charge though. But haven't got the mail yet. Put out my recycle bin this morning full of paper. I try not to do that when it is going to rain so it might have gotten a little wet.

Today was an eBay day. Didn't order anything but got two items in. Did order something from Rockler though. One item was just something for fun and another was something for my wood working.

My outside gauge says about 61°F. Officially 61° so they agree. Think I will take a short break and go out and get the mail. Nothing much in the mail but I noticed that I got a tax document in the mail yesterday. It is that time. Probably will get my W2 from SNC next week. Not going to get as many tax documents this year. Still going to use a program to do my taxes.

Fozzy finally made it to my lap. Is usually here nightly.

Got my Dietz lantern burning in my office and have two candles and the oil lamp night light in the kitchen. Still waiting on my MaxBright Aladdin lamp.

No junk calls today and didn't pay any bills.

Plan to get one of the dust frames installed tomorrow. Takes a lot of work and time. Using the Danish oil to finish the wood.

I think that is going to do it for tonight.
