Still might get rain today.
Jan. 9th, 2021 09:46 pmToday was dry all day but now the forecast says we have a decent chance of rain moving in during the next couple of hours. Looking at the radar it does look like some light rain is approaching from the southwest but nothing yet. Already got the shop sorted and the car put up but I did that before I knew that the rain might be moving in. Happy I have got that done. It would have been a very cold rain. Might be snow moving in to counties to the north of here. Really not very close so not much chance of getting any snow here. It looks like the rain will end tonight and restart probably just before sunup. And then based on the forecast rain all day on Sunday. It will be a good day to work on indoor projects and do some house cleaning. Set to warm up on Wednesday and stay fairly nice for the remainder of the forecast. A few cold days this mouth but mostly moderate for winter.
Did some shop work today. I managed to plane the one remaining skirt board to the right thickness trim it to length and install it today. The pretty much marks the end of construction on the coffee table. I still need to cut a few more pieces to support the marble inlays but nothing precise about that other than being about a quarter inch thick. Mostly just sanding work left to do now. Most of it on the feet. Got to think of some way to make the table slide better on carpet. Going to try the Danish oil finish on this project. Don't think I can do a good job on the table legs using wipe on poly. This takes ages to dry and won't leave brush marks. Never used it before. I think I am going to return the old table pretty much to its original state and remove the top covering and possibly washing and reusing the canvas. Not sure what I am going to do with the old table though.
Also not quite wood working but I modified my kitchen table to make it a lot more functional. A project I have been thinking about for a long time and finally figured out a good way to do it. A little taller now but I don't think it will be noticed.
No housework today. Still had the intention of cleaning the kitchen but didn't. Tomorrow will not be a good shop day so I will try to do it then. Starting to run short on everything again as usually. so time to load and run the dishwasher.
No project work today although I did get pretty much one of the last items I needed in the mail today. Not much shop work involved to move it forward so might brave some shop time and temperature to work on it.
Today was an eBay day. Got one item in leaving four more outstanding from eBay. Didn't go to the mail box tonight since tomorrow is Sunday. I will go out sometime tomorrow and pick up the mail.
The scrap guy did pick up my items. I had just about given up and was going out to bring them back on the porch and they were gone. So the end of that project. Was just an impractical project. I got close but never really finished it. Won't be tempted now to restart it. Close that one out. He will pick up just about anything. Much like a regular service. Things our collection service won't pick up. Got my recyclables out last night too and my trash bin. Both empty. The recycle bin next week will probably be a load of paper.
One less item to talk about since it is Saturday. Gold and crude didn't trade.
I kept to my usual viewing pleasure and watched more episode of The Flash. I think this is the next to the last season but I still have a lot of viewing pleasure left. Next up I think I am going to pick up where I left off on Cobra Kia. Can't forget the YouTube viewing pleasure either. Still haven't checked if this was a free weekend.
Tomorrow is another LOL Cats. Always look forward to and enjoy that.
Got my standby lamp lit in my office. My ceramic lamp started acting funny and burning strangely so I am going to retire it for awhile. I got my new lamp burning in the kitchen along with the night light oil lamp and about three candles. My lamp says it is the baby size but I can't find any other size.
