Another January day with no rain.

Today was just as dry as yesterday with not a drop of rain to be seen, heard or felt. That is supposed to change on Sunday with a respectable high chance of rain and turning cold. Must be some kind of cold front moving through on Sunday. Not going to be too bad tomorrow but turning cold for Sunday and Monday warming up to a nice high on Monday and looking even nicer for the rest of the forecast. Looks like just excellent shop weather and going to be a really mild January. So far altogether it has been a relatively mild winter. Some winters we have actually gotten snow. We did on Christmas day one year. A real white Christmas here. Still snow is kind of rare especially on Christmas day. Cold outside right now. My outside temperature gauge shows to be 42°F and officially it is 45°F and I have yet to sort out the shop so I can put my car up. Well, that is going to have to wait for awhile as Fozzy just showed up to be the lap cat of the day. So I will just continue to work on my entry.

Moved my scrapped projects outside to the curb but the scrap guy either didn't want it or hasn't been by yet. If not gone by the time I go to bed I will just move it back on to the porch and put my trash bin out. Not full but I might as well have it emptied. Got my recycle bin out as it is full. I also put out a load of aluminum cans that I have kept forever for another science project but have decided not to do. So time for them to go. Collected them at work for the longest time but never finished the project.

Only half an eBay day today. Didn't get any thing delivered but I discovered that I really don't have any scroll saw blades. I know I do somewhere but haven't seen them in ages so instead of searching for them I just decided to order some more. So now I have five outstanding items from eBay and one from Rockler.

I opened my Christmas present to myself today. Was just a little late getting here. Well, my fault because I didn't order it early enough. I got a FEUERHAND lamp for myself. Really identical to the Dietz lantern. Didn't have one and it was simply a case of "I Want" so I just bought myself one. Kind of a neat lantern and it took me a few minutes to figure out how to light it. Not really like any lantern I have. So filled it with kerosene and lit it. Burns nicely but I need to trim the wick. I will do that before I light it again.

Didn't do any house work today. Meant to clean the kitchen and get my dishes into the dishwasher but didn't do that. Didn't do any more on my coffee table. I have both legs attached now and it is standing on its own two legs now. Still have the one skirt board to attach and a lot more sanding to do. Basically getting close to being finished. I have to get the planer out tomorrow to plane the one skirt board as it is too thick. Thought about doing it on the table saw but get a better result on the planer and bit more finer control with less worry. Shouldn't take but just a couple of passes and I seem to do a better job with it than the table saw. Then I can trim it to fit and install it. Probably won't do any sanding tomorrow though. Planning on at least testing Danish oil as a finish.

Got another project in mind for tomorrow. I built the template for it today so that should speed things up a bit and make it easier to install and align everything.

Been eating toffee all day. Hard to stop as it taste so good. Can't eat just one.

Nothing on the rocket launch schedule until the 14th. Falcon 9.

Stayed with more episodes of The Flash tonight for my viewing pleasure. Also some assorted YouTube videos. Seems to be my standard.

Got my shop sorted. Getting pretty good at it but I really didn't have just a lot of tools out today. Car is out. I will put that up soon. Just decided to put it up. So in the garage now. The scrap guy hasn't collected yet so looks like I am just going to put it back on the porch in a little while.

Gold had a fall today. Now trading about half way into $1800 an ounce. Crude did a nice rise too. Now trading at a new recent high and looks like it is moving up. Been down for so long.

No incense today or bills paid.

Did the cheese sandwich tradition today. Still have to check about the premium channel free preview weekend.

Did get started on my fun project. Got it working on one light and the very basic of code written. Should just be an expansion of that. And some learning. Now to expand on the basics and might do that on Sunday since it looks like it is going to be much to cold to be in the shop. No work on "projects" though. Still shaded on my solar panels and waiting on various odds and ends to move forward on my other projects.

My outside temperature gauge now shows about 38°F. Cold out.

I think that is going to do it for tonight.
