Nothing in the way of rain today. None was forecast and the forecast was right. The next chance of rain according to the forecast is this Wednesday and it looks like a decent chance of rain. At least according to the forecast. Cold tonight. My outside temperature gauge says about 39°F. Officially the temperature is 44°F. Still cold. Suppose to warm up tomorrow and stay fairly warm for the next four days or so. Then sliding down to colder temperature for a while. Still it is looking like it is going to be a fairly moderate forecast as far as the temperature goes. Nothing really too cold. Staying a respectable distance away from freezing. We did get that cold but I don't know if we actually had a freeze or not. Nothing has happened to the trees but even after a hard freeze these live oak still tend to keep some leaves.
I finally completed doing the finishing work on the skirt boards on my blanket chest. I have officially signed off on it as done. Well, for now as done as it going to get. Still have to finish the bottom, find the right piano hinge and cover the insides. I don't know if I am going to use cedar or do some kind of upholstery on the inside. But for now I have moved it into the master bedroom and I guess it will stay there for awhile and out of the way.
Got to sort out the shop to put the car up. Cold out there so probably do it in stages. Well, the shop is all sorted out as best it can be. Not too organized but everything is put up enough to be out of the way of putting up the car. One of these days I really want to have a dedicated shop. To set up and leave thing and to have it available all the time. Can't have neighbors too close for that.
Claiming that the blanket chest is done when it really isn't but I can't do any more on it for awhile. I did do some more work on the coffee table legs. Slow going on those to get it right. The first one was a bit of a learning curve. Hopefully this second one is better. Learned a lot from the first one. Played with the locking joint bit today for my coffee table skirt boards. Still not 100% sure I am going to use it. Might just do the 45° miter cuts. Faster and easier.
Was going to run the dishwasher tonight but didn't get around to it. I do have the tent set up outside and spent a little time in it listening. Nothing new to report except I can still hear fireworks going off tonight. Sounds like they are ever further away that last nights. Might still get out there for a short time tonight. Sometimes tent time is just the right thing.
Did just a little project work. Drilled and tapped my buss bar. Got just a bit off center. But will still work. The next one should be better. Also used my new 35 Watt soldering iron to solder a connection to one of my battery packs. First one doesn't look good but will work. Need a bit more practice soldering cable that size.
Tomorrow is the 3rd of January. Days. One follows the other.
Got a package in today. Haven't opened it yet so not really sure what it is. Don't think it was an eBay items as nothing shows up as being delivered. Still it could be. Probably open it in a few days and see what it was. Anyway it is one less outstanding item. Found it. Was a Rockler item I ordered. Still one more item to come in from Rockler, two eBay items, two Lehman items, and one Home depot item. Still a few to get here. Didn't order anything today.
Next possible rocket launch is the 14th of January. Might be one earlier but in all the month of January seems to be pretty sparse for Rocket launches.
Got a bit of a start on my paper sorting. Cold tomorrow so might spend a bit more time on it. Nice cold outside weather activity. Going to have unopened bills since I started getting paperless bills. Not flyers either.
Tonight's viewing pleasure was more episodes of the Flash. Now on Season five. After this it will be season 3 of Cobra Kia. Add in YouTube videos to round things out. Still haven't really finished my episode of The Curse of Oak Island.
Put out the recycle bin with a load of paper and cardboard. Got that all gone. Start to refill it now. Probably a lot of my paper sort will go to the recycle. Don't have near as much as I have had in the past but got to shred probably just as much at least this time.
Also got the trash bin out. Wasn't full but was getting heavy so I just got it emptied too.
Got my stimulus check from the government today. Wasn't expected that at all but got an email from my bank saying a deposit had been made. According to Google I got the full amount. Didn't really do much of any work in 2019. Well, I did do the Ineos project come to think of it. Guess I didn't make enough on that job to put me over the limit.
Tomorrow is the LOL cats post. Got to read that as always. Probably work on Table legs tomorrow some.
No lap cat tonight. I think I am going to brave the tent for a little while but take my lamp out there and see if it warms it up. Just came in. A bit afraid to leave a lamp burning in such an enclosed space. It did seem to warm up in there and probably would get it to a nice bearable temperature. Nothing unusual but I did hear the typical sounds of drag racing. Hear that every night.
Fozzy made lap cat just now. Got one of my old lamps lit that I bought at the Renaissance Festival a long time ago. Ceramic base. Can't see oil level so Just have to refile nightly I guess.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
