Unlike the last two days no rain today.
Jan. 1st, 2021 10:11 pmThings kind of dried out today. The rain ended yesterday about mid afternoon and today has been dry and sunny at times. Was warm enough to do some wood working out in the shop. Didn't get much further on the other leg for the coffee table. Did get a piece cut to finish making it though. Looks like it is going to stay cold tomorrow and then warm up again on Sunday. And stay warm for a few day. Next rain chance is Wednesday. Cold outside now. My outside temperature gauge is reading about 41°F. The official temperature is 42°F. Humidity is 77%. Just 34% inside so it is really dry in here. Probably won't get any fog though.
This is the first day of the New Year and now 2020 is history. Days. Since no one was out delivering today it was not an eBay day. I did place another order on eBay though. So slowly clearing all of my orders and trying not to order too much else and just work with what I've got. My order was something I needed to work on my buss bar. So I did do a bit of project work today. Just basically drilled and tapped a hole in a buss bar. Not much but some actual project work.
I also did a bit of house cleaning. Cleaned up the kitchen and got my used dishes put in the dish washer. Put out my trash bin tonight. Not full but I cut up the final remaining bit of my old Anything That Floats boat and put it in the bin. About time for it to go. Slowly letting things go.
Already got the shop sorted and the car put up. On charge tonight. The heater really uses a lot of battery. Just almost any drive really shows up especially when it is so cold outside. Now down to approximately 41°F. Cold outside but feels nice in here.
Gold and crude didn't trade today or at least I don't think it did. The stations I check for gas price showed two at $1.96 and one at $1.98. Checked tonight when I went out to mail the lawn company bill. One of the few bills I still pay by check. About the only other one is the property tax bill and maybe my income tax bill. I suspect I might owe some this year.
Watched more of the Flash for my viewing pleasure and just a bit more The Curse of Oak Island along with an assortment of YouTube Videos. I think I finally finished season 4 of the Flash. So two more seasons to go. I think the third season of Cobra Kia came out today so I think that will be my next series to watch after I finish The Flash.
Still lots of fireworks going off tonight but none of them seem very close so I guess the neighborhood is being rather quiet tonight. Last night some people in the neighborhood where shooting them. Didn't really notice after I went to bed. They didn't seem to keep me awake. Still a nice moon out tonight. Kind of cloudy but sparse enough to see the entire moon at times. Tomorrow is the perihelion so the moon should be rather bright. Probably brighter than usual.
Did do the cheese sandwich tradition for lunch. Still think about how Mom use to make those on Fridays while Dad was at his business association meetings. Just nice to keep the tradition.
I have been sending some things to the trash bin. Moved one of the last relics of our Halloween party here to the trash bin finally. Just got tired of moving it around. It was quite a party and spent so much time decorating for it.
Put out my recycle bin tonight with a load of card board. Boxes that I had from using them in the garage sale I attempted a year or so ago. Taking up space so I thought I would send them to recycle since I don't seem to have a purpose for them. I built a cat box out of one of them and I keep that one.
Need to work on my HEB Delivery order and probably set that for late in this week.
Don't know when the next launch is. The earliest one scheduled is January 14. Was suppose to be one on the 4th or 5th but that has been delayed with no new launch date.
Just have my oil lamp night light lit. Did have some soy wax candles lit but I usually don't let them burn after I go to bed. Don't have my stand-by lamp lit in my office. Warm back here.
Did get the three coats on one of the skirt boards on my blanket chest and one coat on another. After all skirt boards are done I will declare it done to the extent that I can and move it to my bed room at the foot of the bed.
