Rain after midnight.
Nov. 29th, 2020 10:54 pmI think it was still raining after midnight so that should qualify as rain today. I checked the rain gauge this afternoon and I had 2 and 8 tenths of an inch. So for all the rain we had We got well over 7 inches of rain. More than all of September and October combined all in just two days. Don't really think it is going to make much difference to the grass as it is late in the season and the weather is about to turn really cold. Maybe down to freezing but I don't think it is going to get cold enough and stay cold enough long enough to pose any danger to pipes. Don't have my Aladdin lit in my office. The fired heater seems to be doing a great job keeping my office comfortable. The next chance of rain is this Wednesday.
I think I will leave the tent down until at least after Wednesday. Really going to be too cold and don't want to chance my "water resistant" tent in any kind of decent rain. I can just imagine that with the 4 inches of rain we got on Friday probably would have soaked everything inside of my tent. Could have done just fine but I didn't really want to find out otherwise.
Lots of wind noise outside. Can't really hear it in my house but I can hear it out in the shop. Sounds like it is really moving. Probably can hear in the den. But I haven't spent any time in there today.
Got Fozzy as a lap cat at the moment. Doesn't seem like he misses a lot of opportunities to get in my lap. I don't mind at all. He has this rolling R sound that he makes. Kind of a trait of a Maine coon. And is also fascinated but the faucet. Another trait of a Maine coon. So I think he has some in him.
Didn't do any project work but spent some more time in the shop on my blanket chest. I never seem to get as much done as I imagine I can in my head for the day. Didn't make that goal today either. But I am not on a schedule but I am just getting excited to see it done. Has turned into the long term project but there is just a lot of work and time involved.
Did a bit of house work today. I decided to put away the dishes I used into the dishwasher and keep the counter tops clean. I do like that look. And then will be just a easy task to run the dishwasher when it is ready. With the cold weather coming on I might be doing more house work, more project work and less shop work. Could use some time cleaning and straightening.
Don't know about rocket launches but probably the next one I can watch is December 5th which is a Falcon 9 launch. Seems like the word scrubbed is being used a lot lately.
Still have to take break and sort out the shop so I can put up the car. Will do that later.
I would almost say gold is almost in free fall now trading well below $1800 an ounce and well in to $1700 an ounce territory. Crude is holding steady. Not moving much.
Only watched YouTube videos today for viewing pleasure. Free weekend is happening but I really haven't watched any of it.
I won another eBay auction for a jade bangle. That makes three. Will send them all to Ashley one at a time. Have outstanding bids on several more. Doing it mostly for fun.
Checked Gas price while I was out for short drive. Still the same. I thought they might go up with the recent rise in crude price. Hasn't happened.
Sunday so not really an eBay day. No orders either. Something should be coming in tomorrow.
Don't know if I will make it into the shop tomorrow. Might be too cold. Maybe do some quick sanding so I can stain the remaining two panels. Got one stained and will start the finishing process tomorrow. Might move the operation inside to assemble the panels since it is mostly dust free or just work on projects instead. I do have some project work I can do.
Cold outside. My outside temperature gauge shows about 47°F. Forecast says down to 41°F. Cold enough.
Wonder what it might be like in my tent. Don't think my blanket are enough. Would be a long cold night.
Tomorrow is the official end to hurricane season.
Full moon very early in the morning tomorrow. I am sure it is pretty full now but didn't see it when I went out to put up the car. Will check again tomorrow.
