Yes, it rained.
Oct. 27th, 2020 10:39 pmJust as forecast we got rain today. Still raining out there now but a really light rain. Just put on the car and it is a gentle slow rain. Rain none the less and we do need it. Haven't been out to my rain gauge to check it though. Going to try to do that tonight. And more rain forecast for tomorrow plus some windy conditions for the next two days and cold for the next three days before it warms up again. Probably going to have to turn on the heat. The house does a nice job of retaining heat from the sun warming it up but I don't think it can do three days of cold temperatures. I was actually out in the shop today and the conditions were quite nice. Did get started on a project. The next couple of days look too cold to be in the shop. I have once in the past actually used my propane burner to warm up the shop but I don't think it is worth doing that. I will just wait until it warms up. And it looks like we are going to have a nice stretch of good shop weather coming up.
Did check my rain gauge and not quite a tenth of an inch.
Today was an eBay day. Got a couple of items in. Nothing new in the way of orders though. I think Friday is going to be a big eBay. I have several items that look like they are going to arrive then. Possible three items. Maybe four. Can't see any tracking information on one item.
A rocket launch is scheduled for tomorrow. An Electron scheduled for about 4:15 our time. Looks like the last one this month. November looks like it is going to be a very active month for launches though.
And the end of October is closer. Tomorrow will be the 28th. Halloween is this Saturday with a full moon as a bonus and should be good weather.
Actually did some project work today. Connected a battery pack to one of my fun projects. Got something on the way to charge them and figured out a way to install the battery management system on them. The sun shades the solar panels so I won't worry about connecting them to my solar system until probably next year. Just want to keep them charged and in good shape until then
Did some house cleaning too. Folded and put up my laundry. Went through all my mail and sorted that. Did some cleaning and sorting in the bathroom. Also vacuumed a bit. More house work than I have done in a while.
Don't know what gold is doing. I can't see anything on the graph. Crude has fallen back more. Has been on a down hill slide for a while now. Don't know if that is why the gas station prices are dropping or it is a true gas war. Since I don't use gas really except the rare time I put gas in the truck to keep it just running a little.
Zeta is closing in on Land fall probably in about day from now. This has been such an active season for storm. The season last through November but a blast of cold air moving into the gulf might help cool the water as it is still warm. I think I am going to watch a little of the Weather Channel coverage before going to bed.
Watched some more of the Flash tonight for my viewing pleasure and of course YouTube channels that I follow.
No sounds of the night as it has been much too cold outside to put up and be in the tent. Don't think I am going to chance the wind even though the rain should end tonight.
My lawn company came today about mid morning if I remember right. As usually it takes them about no time to take care of my lawn. One of the reasons I took down the tent last night. Probably have to wait about three days as it just going to be too cold outside for the tent plus more rain and wind forecast.
I usually don't post bad news but I noticed that the indents on the bottle caps of my last batch of beer had popped out meaning they were over pressuring. And they were. Probably close to blowing the caps off or exploding the bottles. So I had to dump the entire batch. Never had this problem in the past but there was a substitute ingredient in this batch that I had never used before. The store was going out of business and they didn't have the exact ingredient. Was getting old anyway.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
