Passed another day with no rain.
Sep. 14th, 2020 07:56 pmStarting to look like a pattern. We just aren't getting any rain. If not for catching that occasional thunderstorm we probably wouldn't have had any rain in over a month. Still showing just a moderate increase in rain chances for Thursday but nothing at all after that. I guess high pressure has settled over us again and is going to keep it relatively warm but mostly dry. At least based on the forecast the best we can hope for until almost the end of September is to catch an sea breeze thundershower or something close to that.
Sally looks like it is shifting more to the east for a landfall. The spaghetti models seem to put the land fall over Mobil or mostly in Alabama. The National Hurricane Center's Map don't really put it that far east. I think it has stalled so it might still move further east. Looking as the winds it probably going to have below tropical storm force winds at my relatives house. Really hard to say but it looks like landfall is going to be at least 90 miles away.
Didn't burn any incense today. Did take all the dishes out of the dishwasher and put them away. That was about the extent of my house work. Dishes seem to pile up so quickly. Fozzy was here not long ago as the lap cat of the day. I am surprised he hasn't come back to reclaim his spot.
Gold and crude are mostly back to a trading range. Not just a lot to say about them. No real project work today outside of just charging batteries. With the cooler days coming probably Thursday and following I might try to get in my shop and at least do some straightening up. Don't think I will try anything in the way of project work or at least nothing that requires serious effort. Can still use things like the band saw and the Drill Press. Hand tools too.
Got a notice today that Platinum Canadian Maple Leafs are available and just checking I can see that they are still available. And it looks like that is the only one that have available. I am surprised it isn't gone already.
Watched some interesting YouTube content by the Every Day Astronaut. Well, probably not binge watching but I did watch a good bit of Star Trek on CBS All Access. Still don't know why it is so finicky on my TV to connect to. Started using my work computer. Might as well use it. I honestly don't think they are going to want it back. Actually it is not really a bad laptop. It was band new I guess when I got it. Have to think for a minute but that was probably well over two years ago. Yes, at least two years ago. Meant to run our simulation programs but I don't need anything like that. I can still get to programs like Excel and Word but I don't really have just a lot of need for those. I still use Visio from time to time but I have my own copy of that.
Just kind of want to get back to using paper and pen to do most everything except for my taxes. And of course bill pay.
I got one junk call today. It was one I get at least one a week and seems like it has been forever. Something like: This is Lee. . . . American Police Officers. . . And that is about as far as he gets.
I got a call from the campaign head quarters of one of the Democratic Candidate for Congress. Asking about helping on her campaign.
Looks like I am going to be good on my supplies for awhile. But probably towards the end of this week going to have to contemplate putting together another HEB Delivery.
The ides of September was the 13th. September will be half over after tomorrow. Time does move although slowly it seems. Just about a week until fall arrives here. Going to be on the 22nd.
Finished listening to Ashley's podcast on composting. She is really quite knowledgeable about it.
Paid a bill today. Got the paper copy but just went to the web site and paid it. I really should switch just as much as I can to paperless. Just less for me to file at the end of the year. Plus I only keep a year of bills except for bank records. I keep all of those. Everything thing else is shredded and recycled at the end of the year.
Speaking of recycle I will probably have enough plastic and metal to put out a recycle bin this week. Probably won't hold it all if I wait until next week.
Wasn't an eBay day today. Not even an order eBay day.
