Tonight. Finally. Rain.
Aug. 28th, 2020 10:11 pmTonight we had rain. This same storm brought Gary about 2 inches of rain and we got just over 1/10 of an inch. It had pretty much rained itself out before it got here. Still it is rain. I will gladly take the amount over what we have been getting the past several days. Should do some good. The next week or so looks pretty dry and even past that. Good that we can get this type of rain and the occasional afternoon thundershower. I am sure it does help.
Not much exciting to say about gold and crude. They are still trading just about like they have been the past several days. Gold took such a rapid increase in price and now it just seems to have leveled out and is really below it peak. Still really nothing available in platinum coins in what I would call the normal ones. Like the American Eagles can be found but they trade at a higher premium over spot than what I call the normal ones. Like the Canadian Maple leaf. They like I mention just about every night are available on a few eBay dealer stores.
Ran out of black ink on my printer. Still good on most of the colors but low and of course it is eBay to the rescue. No problem finding black ink of the right type for my printer. So another eBay order for me today. Plus another. And today was an eBay day. Got two things in both for a couple of my fun type projects. Should get what I really would have to call kind of a toy for me tomorrow. Another type of eBay impulse buy. Ordered some more soap making supplies too but from one of my go to merchants for it. They have everything in one spot and ship really quick. I have ordered from them for years. My Morgan City Silver Dollar looks like it will get here on Tuesday.
Finally did break down and just decided to pamper my truck and let it get a nice wash and wax. Will be done on Monday. Did get out keeping on schedule and drove it around today. Need to do that.
Today's incense selection was Black Cherry. A great smelling incense but again they all are. I just try to rotate between what I have.
Did finish making my soap tonight. Got it put in is "oven" to bake for 24 hours. Actually it is just an ice chest to keep the heat in. Doesn't really need any kind of external hear source. The heat of the reaction will keep it warm. Will cut it up this time tomorrow and start the aging process. Got to let it set for Three weeks.
Did do a bit more house work today. Put up the dishes and folded and put up my laundry. Not too bad for house work.
I thought I would have heard the fireworks from the ball park by now but I haven't heard anything. Maybe the rain has something to do with it. I heard them last week but not tonight. I Haven't been outside to listen to the sounds. Last night the crickets were silent but I could still hear the geckos chirping. Was going to put out my paper recyclables but it was late. Meant to do that earlier because now opening the front door will almost certainly invite in mosquitoes. Decided to just put it out tomorrow. Should have time before the pick up comes.
Today was cheese sandwich day and I did carry on the tradition. But now out of sliced single American Cheese. Got to include that in my next HEB delivery order. I think I am still good on butter for a while still.
Got two junk calls today. Probably about average considering some days I don't get any.
Can't afford your health insurance.
Cancer screening. If not may be ineligible . . . Something like that.
They now always seem to include some kind of press a number to be removed. Never have done that. Don't think it really works.
More of that awful word, "postponed" in rocket launches. But there does show to be a Delta rocket launch early and I do mean early tomorrow. At about 1:04 am our time. Going to try to stay up and watch it. And the Every Day Astronaut is going to carry it on his YouTube channel. Then on Sunday if that word postponed isn't used there might be two Falcon 9 launches. Going to be a decent few days for launches.
Added a new friend on Facebook. Friend of a friend. Will accept those. Haven't had any request on linked-In lately.
