On towards 2 weeks with no rain.
Aug. 18th, 2020 10:14 pmJust not getting any rain here. I think now it is coming up on about two week since we last got rain. I could see the afternoon type thundershowers show up and hoped one would reach us but no luck. Looks like a good one passed well to the west of us and radar did show something that might have been rain here but I couldn't see any sign of it outside. Nothing much that looks like a good chance of rain until next Tuesday. Still always the chance of the same type of thundershowers that showed up today. Just have to be lucky and be where one of those are.
Checking the Atlantic both Invest 97 and 98 are still out there and are forecast to gain strength. Moving too fast right now to strengthen. Does look like all the spaghetti models for Invest 98 agree which is somewhat amazing and show it turning northwards before it reaches Florida and moving up the east coast. The spaghetti models for Invest 97 don't show much agreement at all right now. Really not in a good place for us as those then to move into the Gulf of Mexico. Some of the spaghetti models show Invest 97 moving into Mexico and some show it going into Louisiana. Quite a range.
Gold made it back above $2000 an ounce for a good part of the day. Currently trading for below that now. Crude is still about where it has been for awhile. No change in any of the gas prices I check either. Still searching and can't find any platinum coins other than the few I can find on eBay. Must be a huge demand. Never seen them not be available.
Really heard the cicadas earlier but don't hear them now. I see several geckos in my landscaping so maybe that is what is making the chirping noise that I hear so often.
I think today's choice of incense was Jasmine but not entirely sure. Best of my memory. Fozzy was a late night guest in my lap. He really just takes over and stays as long as my legs will hold out.
I did watching the Falcon 9 launch this morning. Got up in time and watched it on the Everyday Astronaut's YouTube channel. Always enjoy watching them launch and they make it look so easy. Another just perfect launch and recovery of the booster. Next up is a Delta 4 heavy. Doing my best to keep up with all of them.
Tonight was the new moon and the next full moon is September 2nd. The days are getting shorter.
No project work today but I did finish charging all my batteries. Went through all my mail today and paid a bill and also mailed a letter. Got that all sorted.
Got a few junk calls today.

Seems like I am forever getting similar calls for firefights, police, sheriffs. Lots of things like that. I don't really know if any of the organization exist. I read that if they do they only get like 5% of the donations raised. I must get at least three calls like that a week. All for different associations or something.
My lawn company game today and pretty early in the day. It looks like my guess about their schedule is right but they usually come later. Lawn looks well mowed now. Don't know about next time if we don't get any rain.
