Still waiting on rain.
Aug. 16th, 2020 11:09 pmAdd another one to the list of days with no rain. Looking at the radar there is a pretty massive storm now moving through the Dallas Fort Worth area that looks like it might actually make it this far south. Just by the size and the past movement it could make it here. That would be nice. A new weather service says there is an increased chance of thundershowers here beginning about 5:00 am and the other one doesn't. It is the weather after all. A shower would be nice. It does look like the Dallas Fort Worth area are getting a lot of rain. Just save a little for us. Rain chances for Thursday and Friday for next week are also elevated.
Looks like Kyle disappeared completely and Josephine is now just remnants. But the National Hurricane Center's map now shows Disturbances 1 and 2. Disturbance 1 they already show heading for the Gulf. Disturbance 2 may turn and go up the coast. Doesn't really show that but just my guess. Need to keep a watchfully stance on Disturbance 1. It does look like at least for a while it is going to be under the Saharan dust cloud. Still more coming our way. Must be really windy there and seems like it has been for awhile. Mikes Weather Page doesn't show any spaghetti models for the disturbances yet.
Gold seems to have stabilized in price the last few days. Staying in about the same range. Crude doesn't seem to want to break out of that range it has been in. Slightly upwards but not just a lot. Didn't see any changes in the gas price tonight. Those have been fairly stable too. No platinum coins to be found anywhere. There seems to have been a huge run on those. Can't be found anywhere. Well, it does look like there are a few American Eagles available on eBay. Looks like most are priced too high over spot though.
No project work today as such. I did reconnect my Raspberry Pi with the beta 64 bit operating system and update it. Not much else though. I think it is still in beta. I think I need to clean off my project table again. Of course it wasn't an eBay day. Sunday as it seems but like I have mentioned in the past I have received items for the United States Post Office on Sunday.
Nothing in the way of junk calls today. Today's incense was Jasmine. Fairly sure of that. I think my supplies of incense are still good and should last a little while longer before I need to order more. Still have a good supply of strike anywhere matches too.
Forgot to check the sounds of the night when I put up the car. Well, I had already closed the garage door before I could. I would assume that the crickets are out there. Tomorrow my mosquito service will spray. Actually haven't noticed much in the way of mosquito activity. That may be because I have been very careful about opening doors after dark. Don't think my lawn service will come this week. I think this week they come on Tuesday.
Found a 71 Plymouth Duster on eBay tonight that looked a lot like mine. But checking the VIN number and of course it wasn't. Painted the same color which I think they only offered the year I got mine.
I have often thought about converting a classic car to electric. I would want to completely remove the floor pan and build a battery pack that would fit there under the car with all the extras like water cooling and regenerative breaking. Of course using running gear from a existing electric car. I am afraid the cost would probably be more than a brand new top of the line Tesla though. I am happy with my Bolt. Still have more than a year to see what else comes on the market. I know my next car will also be electric. Outside of being more expensive I can't think of anything that makes a gas car a better choice.
Still charging batteries for one of my fun projects. I have a twelve volt system in my Solar System now but nothing really on it. Need to figure out something to do with it. Don't really have room to add another 12 volt battery in my battery cabinet. Kind of limits what I can do.
Still watching the storm to the north. Now I don't think it is going to make it. Seems to have stopped moving this way. Still a big storm but seems like it is stalled or dissipating n the front. Should know by morning it they are going to make it.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
