Continuing dry. No rain today.
Aug. 12th, 2020 09:49 pmAn another day with no rain. Looks like this trend is going to continue for the next several days and be quite warm too. Probably continuing into next week. Next decent chance of rain is on Monday and maybe that will cool things off too. We are currently in a dry pattern but it look like late next week that is going to change to another wet pattern. Just hoping the rain is timely enough to not have to water the lawn. Has been close this summer except for one long dry spell.
Still have tropical depression eleven out in the Atlantic. The National Hurricane Center thought it might be a tropical storm buy now but it hasn't made it yet. Maybe over night and into Thursday morning it will. About all of the spaghetti models except for a couple mostly show it turning further north and then to the north east and avoiding land altogether. It was far enough to the south that it looked like it had a chance to come into the Gulf so it had to be watched. The models don't predict that now.
Did some wiring on my solar battery center. Just wired in a connection to my 36 volt system. Didn't do any other project work. Should do some more work on the program for my light sequencer particularly learning how to do a loop. Still wish I could use BASIC on my Raspberry Pi but can't really find a good program for it. I did a lot of programming in BASIC.
Didn't do much of anything in the way of housework. Hung up all of my t-shirts. And that is about it. I burned Jasmine as my choice of incense for today. Just the one. Didn't follow up with anything.
Gold pretty much rebounded today climbing back up to about 1950 an ounce. Silver followed. Still really nothing available in the way of platinum 1 oz coins. Still checking but not really finding much. Seems like there was a pretty good run on those. Crude is still about where it has been. Did check a few gas prices and they haven't changed.
Not an eBay day today. Not a delivery day at all. That does happen occasionally. I do tend to order a lot of stuff on line.
Tomorrow is my HEB delivery. Can't think of anything else to add. They did raise the number of items you can add from 10 to 20. I did add two items. Probably could add a couple more but will probably just wait until next order. So very nice to have that service available.
Listened to Ashley's podcast last night. Was an interesting one. She is now working on the next one. Always enjoy listening to them.
I got paid today. Always a good thing. Still don't know how they schedule the payments. I don't think I have any bills due but it seems like I should have something coming. I try to keep caught up with those.
Twist slipped into my lap this afternoon for a few minutes. Fozzy seems to be absent tonight.
Got a small landscaping project I want to get done. Just putting in a strip of sod on one side of my house. Probably too small for most of the sod companies. No rush. Just something I want done. Kind of support the local businesses.
An Ariane 5 rocket is scheduled to launch on August 14th. Don't know if it is going to be live. One of my YouTube favorites follows all of that. I will check his channel. Another Falcon 9 is scheduled to launch on August 18th.

Does look like work has picked up. I think I am everything but official retired now. Really don't know how I could submit my retirement notice anyway. Or turn in my computer. Still nice to have it to check company email.
Fixed my lava lamp today. Sometimes after being used a few times the "lava" just sits on the bottom as a big blob and doesn't rise or fall. I think I have discovered the secret. It is working fine now. Like Estes Rockets Lava Lamps are still being made. Just been an icon for so long. I have two of them and fun to watch. Can be kind of hypnotic. I thought that it might be hard to get replacement bulbs if they ever really banned incandescent light bulbs. Still can get them though.
Probably need to put out my Trash bin this week. Not really full but close enough. Don't think I am going to have enough to put out my recycle bin though. A lot of people in this neighborhood do recycle.
I have a rotary dial phone. An eBay find. Was actually surplus, never used and still in the box. Works just fine. And I have another one I was given. Kind of fun to have those. That look of a rotary dial phone. Yes, you can still find them on eBay.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
