Like yesterday, no rain today.
Aug. 11th, 2020 10:34 pmQuite a dry day today with no rain. Warmer too. Didn't see much of anything on radar of the occasional afternoon thundershower. Looked to be far and few between. Not much in the forecast either until about a week from now although it is going to be warmer. But it is August and got to expect that. So humid too. A heat advisory was issued today. I grew up working in temperatures like this or warmer but it was a very dry climate. Really didn't seem to notice as much. We had the evaporative type of air conditioning which for the most part worked quite well. Even the junior high I went to didn't have air conditioning. Just had to leave the windows open.
Been watching my bank account to see if I have been paid. So far nothing yet. It does seem to vary a lot as to the day. Sometimes on the first, sometimes later. So I don't really understand how they do the payments.
Tropical depression Eleven is shown to reach tropical storm strength sometime late tomorrow. Don't know what the name will be. The National Hurricane Center shows that it will gradually turn to the north as it moves further west. Might do the same thing as the last one and just move up the east coast. Doesn't look like it is going to move into the Gulf though. A number of the spaghetti models show it turning further north and missing land altogether. Still just have to watch it. Time of the year to be careful.
Looks like gold took a plunge today dropping below $1900 an ounce. Don't know what news could have caused that. Silver kind of followed suit. Dropped about $6 an ounce. Still not finding much in the way of platinum coins for sale. Everyone seems to be out. Can still buy like the special ones though but they are way over spot market price. Crude stayed about in its same range. Doesn't look like any gas prices have changed.
For the junk calls of the day.
Replacement windows. Told them I was not interested but they still called back.
Today's incense selection were Vanilla and Black Cherry to the best of my memory.
Thought I was going to add something to my HEB order but just decided to order it on eBay. And today was not an eBay. Seems to be a rarity these days. Ebay is so wonderful for just finding all kinds of wants and needs. Might have to really search sometimes but generally I can find it.
Could hear the cicadas earlier tonight. They were quite loud. Doesn't sound like much else outside tonight. Of course the crickets but I'm not sure if I heard any chirping.
Listened to Ashley's pod cast tonight on witchcraft and fermenting and pickling foods. Did my fair share of fermenting but never did any pickling. Kind of sounds easy to do though. But is probably not.

Did some very minor project work tonight. Just played around some with the lay out of the connections and decided the one I used was about the best. Might make the connections a little different but keep the same basic layout.
Did a load of T-shirts today and finished cleaning up the kitchen and ran the dishwasher. A housework kind of day. Did a little vacuuming a couple of days ago.
Went out to put up my car. So very humid. Shows to be about 90% according to The Weather Channel. Not quite to the point of being hazy outside though.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
