Again dry and no rain
Aug. 10th, 2020 10:02 pmNothing like a good thundershower today to give us some rain. Watched the radar and it didn't look like there were very many at all today. Yesterday they were springing up everywhere. It does look like the panhandle is getting their usual seemingly daily storm passing through. Nothing much in the way of rain percentage for the next week other than a little bit warmer temperatures into the following week and then the rain chance increases with a drop in temperatures. That is going to put us well into August.
We might have a tropical cyclone in the Atlantic sometime in the next several days. This one is far enough south to possibly come into the Gulf. The National Hurricane Centers says conditions are less favorable later but still need to watch this one.
I think I am going to start a new feature and list the junk calls I get. So for today and yesterday.
Special offer from Marriott Hotels.
Get your credit card interest rate lowered.
Special rate on electric bill because haven't missed any payments in the last six months.
And finally one hangup. I guess they computer wasn't working on that one. So that was my junk calls.
Didn't really do any project work today. I did some rewiring on my solar battery cabinet. Added a buss so I would have access to the 36 volt battery pack and could add accessories that could use that voltage if I wanted to. I do have some that can use that high voltage.
I finished my "landscaping" today. Got all my bricks moved and stacked neatly. Fozzy is no longer an outdoor cat so won't be needing the structures I built for him. I also moved his cat house so it would be less in the way. Moved it to the side of the back porch. I think he only used it once. Built it to give him some place to sleep on cold nights. But no more cold outdoor nights for him I hope.
My lawn company did come today although late in the day. I think I may have figured out their schedule. Monday or Tuesday. The lawn did need mowing. It had really grown although it has been dry the past few days with the exception of the thundershower yesterday. Did spot a single mushroom today. Might have been more but I didn't look any further.
Did an incense burn today. Jasmine. And Fozzy found a nice comfortable lap tonight. Kind of early for him but welcome.
Gold took a dip today and moved closer to just $2000 an ounce. Odd that silver didn't follow but stayed up. And doesn't look like there is a platinum coin to be had anywhere. Seems like all of the BU rated 1 ounce platinum coins are gone. No one seems to have any for sale. I have been checking. Platinum is trading for just under $1000 an ounce. Crude oil seems pretty happy just to stay just about where it has been. Not moving a lot at all. I checked again tonight and haven't seen any change in gas prices.
Got an email from work today that kind of makes it sounds like things might be picking up a bit. Not entirely sure based on the way it was worded but it did seem to be positive.
I thought of one item I needed to add to my HEB order. Now I have just nine more to add if I can think of that many. Actually added two items and I see you can now add up to 20 items to your shopping list. For me I probably could just start with one and still have plenty left with that many items to add. So glad that service is available. Well worth the delivery price and the driver tip.
Today was an eBay day. Seems to be common enough now. Still have at least one more item outstanding on eBay.
I can hear the crickets outside tonight but they are always there. I can hear the chirping again tonight but it doesn't sound close. So what ever makes that sound is not near.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
