Not today. No rain.
Aug. 6th, 2020 10:14 pmGoing into just a few days with no rain. Didn't really see much happening on radar either. Well, I didn't look very hard. Could have been a lot. No heat of the day thundershowers for us. Didn't really notice any thunderheads today. Sunday has a moderate chance of rain and then later into next week and the following week the rain chances do increase somewhat. It has been kind of an on and off season as far as the rain goes. Have been getting almost timely rains. And really the temperature has been kind to us so far. A few less kind days but generally kind. The National Hurricane Center's map shows nothing to be forming or formed. Got to watch it though.
Did some project work today on my light sequencer. Worked on the code and got it modified and tested the complete system with lights plugged in and it worked. So not really done in the least as it doesn't really have any kind of case. Going to be a bit tricky to program the relays because the timing relies on the sleep commands. I don't know if there is a way to individual tell a relay to turn on for a certain amount time. Going to have to put together a time line to make it all work because all relays are impacted by the sleep command. I will figure it out. Will just take a bit of time. Not really any chance to put it to work for a while yet but it does work. Might play with it some more. Making things like light chasers and others.
Hopefully SpaceX is going to launch a Falcon 9 tonight. I already have my YouTube tuned into the right channel. Right now about 74 minutes before they go live and the launch should go just after midnight here. Going to be fun to watch as always. This one has been postponed forever.
And after midnight got to check what lately seems to be the dim hope that we are going to get a premium channel free preview for the weekend. Haven't got one in ages.
Tomorrow is that traditional cheese sandwich Friday. All my supplies are in good shape for it. Cheese, butter, bread. Going to have to put together another HEB delivery soon. Sometime next week.
Had Twist as a lap cat for a while. Fozzy will probably come in later tonight and take his place. He really seems to love being a lap cat. Today's incense burning experience was Black Cherry.
Gold is being gold and I don't really know what it is going to do. Very high now. Higher than it has ever been. Silver is following suit too. Never seen it this high before.
Can't really hear much going on outside. I am sure the crickets are making their usual noise but I can't hear any chirping outside. Checked at two different windows too. Don't really want to go out because I know the mosquitoes are out. Typical for this area after a few rains.
Put the car on charge tonight. Gary is in Dallas at his second home. Texting today. SpaceX. Weather. Mowing. Temperature. Swimming pool.
No political surveys today. Usually get one every day. Not an eBay day today. Got something from another site so something was delivered. I usually get something just about every day. Still have a few outstanding item on eBay yet to come in. I get some odd items off of eBay. Probably would really have to search to find them anywhere else.
Still waiting on Ashley's podcast.
Checking to see if I got paid or not. Doesn't ever seem to be consistent. Just have to watch for it. Not really doing anything at my real work. Don't really know what is going on there. Seems to be some work as I see people on line working from home. Still check my email though. Still don't know if they are ever going to want my work computer back. It is a Windows 7 machine. If they drop their support agreement it really becomes useless. Unless they let me have administrative rights so I can install Linux on it. Then I don't really know what I would do with it. Mostly now just gives me an easy way to check work email. It uses display port instead of HDMI and so I don't really have a way of connecting it to any of my displays without getting an adapter. Easy enough to do really on eBay. Again to the rescue.
Still waiting on a Houston Museum of Natural Science Auction. Ready to bid.
