Maybe rain today?
Aug. 2nd, 2020 10:15 pmRadar showed thunder showers moving through here this afternoon but I didn't see any sign of them. Nothing seemed to be wet and I didn't hear anything. But it did look like the storms passed over us. So maybe be did. Does look like we are going to be in for a dry spell well into the following week. Just like today there is always that chance of a thunder shower. And I saw what looked like a big thunder head back to the east of us. Really tall clouds. I think Gary got some rain out of the passing storm. Fortunately the temperatures don't look too bad.
Isais is still alive and now off the coast of Florida and expected to curve up the coast of the US. Now just a tropical storm and not forecast to strengthen. Have been watching a little of the Weather Channel coverage of it. Only one other thing in the Atlantic as it seems the one that rolled of the coast of Africa has disappeared. The Disturbance 1 looks like it is going to turn and go up the Atlantic.
Today was Sunday and did read my LOL Cats. Always look forward to that as it is a special Sunday treat. Put the car on charge tonight. Got it plugged in and charging to about 90%. Probably will take it all night and into tomorrow to fully charge. On the level one charger it does take awhile but for my driving it works out well. Might have had a little trouble keeping up if I was still making the 40 mile commute back and forth to work everyday. For about the last several years I was only working four days a week so it probably could have kept up.
No project work tonight. I need to find what I did with all the jumpers when I used it for my fireworks controller. Don't know what I did with them but only a few places they could be. I could just break out some new ones too
No eBay day today. Very rare that a Sunday is but I have had it happen. Always seem to have something coming in from eBay.
Text day with Gary.
Talked to Steve and Kevin just a bit today. They were getting fast food. I burned Dragons Blood for my incense today. Watching gold trade tonight. Still not above $2000 an ounce but not really far from it. Crude is still a long way from its high and seems to be still trading about where it was. Not a lot of movement. I did see a price of $1.99 for gas tonight but that seems to be the exception. Most are anywhere from 10 to 20 cents cheaper. The electricity for my car is hidden in the electric bill so I really don't know how much it is costing to keep my car charged. Still very nice just to be able to charge at home. Probably should put some fresh gas in the truck. I do drive it around the neighborhood some.
I did watch a rerun of the Dragon crew Capsule coming back to earth. Saw the parachutes deploy and watched it splash down. A real plus for SpaceX. Nothing much for a while on the launch schedule until Thursday when another Falcon 9 is scheduled to launch. Will be watching if it goes. Looks like a lot are scheduled during August but no dates are being giving. As usually just have to keep checking back.
Watched a bit more of Star Trek tonight. CBS All Access can be a bit finicky but I usually do manage to connect.
More chirping tonight and of course the ever present cricket sound. Still haven't noticed much of a mosquito presence yet but I don't spend just a lot of time outside. And I try not to open the front door much at all because they seem to love to hang out there. Got to go outside tomorrow and check out the full moon. I think we aren't covered by the Saharan dust at the moment so it should be a bright full moon. I don't know when my next scheduled mosquito spraying is going to happen.
Tomorrow my lawn company should be here and my lawn is getting tall. Didn't see any mushrooms but I have spotted a few growing in mediums. It seems like on every other week they come on Tuesday and since they came last Monday I don't know if they will be here or not. Or if they will come on Tuesday. Not much chance of rain so they should have good weather.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
