Heavy rain last night.
Aug. 1st, 2020 10:16 pmGot a lot of rain last night. Checked my rain gauge before the rain had completely stopped and emptied it but it showed about an 1 and 9/10. Checked it again later and it showed just above a 1/10 of an inch. So it seems like I got about two inches of rain early this morning. The back yard is just soaked and I have a little bit of standing water in the front yard. Checked but there doesn't seem to be any mushrooms anywhere to be found either in the front of back yards. That looks like about the end of it until next week on about Saturday and Sunday when another decent chance of rain shows up. The temperature are still going to be warm but not too bad.
Isaias has been downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm. I was listening to the Weather Channel and they said it looked like it was losing strength and so did Gary. Some of the spaghetti models show that it will become a hurricane again and the National Hurricane Center seems to think so too. Still has sustained winds of 60 mph. Looks like it is going to curve upwards an probably go back on shore in South and North Carolina. Still two other items out there but one shows to be turning and going up the Atlantic and the other one looks to be too far north to move into the Gulf. Still have to keep an eye on them. So active out there. Now into August.
This area looks to be out from under the Saharan dust cloud and if the model is right no dust for the following three days. The model shows the dust cloud turning and moving north up the coast. I think I heard something about the jet stream dipping down south so maybe that is what is carrying it up the coast. Don't know but just my guess.
No gold and crude report tonight. I don't think either are trading at the moment. I did see that one station had dropped its price from $1.83 back to $1.79. There are three gas stations there so they all seem to have the same price. Not sure why the other station when up and the other two didn't. I did drive by a few other stations but didn't notice the prices.
I can hear the same chirping tonight and tonight it sounds closer. Still could be frogs as the rain really tends to bring them out. Haven't been outside to see if I can hear the crickets but I assume they are noisy tonight too as they always seem to be. Just another couple of days until the full moon. And it kind of looks like the skies are going to be clear. The last two view although it was full the moon was really bright.
Vanilla was the incense choice of the day. Only burned the one though. No lap cat as of yet but generally Fozzy tends to be a late night addition to my lap.
Did a bit more work on my light sequencer. I got all the wires to the sockets installed but still have to connect the relays to the computer. And have to find the program that my fireworks program is on. I have a number of chips now and don't know which one has it. Not to difficult to search them though. Really need someone with artistic talent to help me program the lights especially if they are going to move to music. I may have the technical ability but I am sorely lacking in the artistic category. I guess I will just play around with them for now to understand how to program them when I finally get it finished.
Tomorrow is LOL Cats day. Always read that and enjoy it.
Gary Text today. Weather.
A rocket launch tomorrow called Rocket 3.1. Going to be about 9 pm here if it launches tomorrow. Going to launch from Alaska.
Not an eBay day today. Have a few things still waiting on. Nothing for projects. Just some house hold items. Just to have spares on hand.
Still hoping for a Houston Museum of Natural Science Auction.
Watched some of the Weather Channel today and Also watch a little bit more of Star Trek. Might watch a little more tonight. Also just in passing a watched a little of the pro golfing and some Hockey.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
