Dry to day I think. No rain.
Jul. 27th, 2020 10:45 pmI don't believe we got any rain today. I saw what looked like possible radar returns over us but I don't think it dropped any rain. Could have but I didn't hear it. Looks like a decent thunder storm back to the north east of us. I can see the lightening in the sky in that direction and the radar confirms it. Looks like it is headed this way but I don't think it is going to hold together long enough to make it here. There is a decent rain chance tomorrow about noon time. But never a sure thing at all. At least out of these last several days of high rain chances we got over two inches of rain. Will keep the sprinkler at bay for awhile. And it brought cooler temperatures too.
The panhandle looks like it is getting a large storm tonight too. Storms in that area can bring hail and tornadoes.
My lawn company came today and I paid their bill today also. Drove to the post office to mail it. Done the old fashion way by writing a check and mailing it. Don't pay many bills that way anymore. They do me a good job so I like to keep them paid.
There was suppose to be a static test of the SpaceX Star Liner today. I just happen to stumble on the event and watched for the longest time but it was scrubbed. And in terms of watching I remembered to watch "The Wall" tonight. Kind of a fun show to watch. About the only game show that I do watch with any regularity. Now there are three scheduled launches on three consecutive days starting on July 29th. So many postponement though. Just have to watch to be patient and watch when they do go. I love to see them launch.
The next probably tropical storm is out there and might form soon. Don't know what the name is going to be but the spaghetti models show mostly that it is going to turn and go up the east coast of the US. Still looking at the models it might cross over Florida and move into the Gulf. Just have to watch these things carefully. Looks like the another Saharan Dust cloud is going to cover us early Wednesday morning. And there are two really big areas of Saharan dust out there and still to come. Not done with the dust yet.
Gas prices that I checked are the same as yesterday. And crude is just about stuck. Not moving just a lot either up or down. Gold hit a new high but fell back a good bit with silver pretty much following the same pattern. I don't know if it is going to make $2000 an ounce or not. Kind of fun watching it.
Didn't really do any project work today although I did clean off my project table a bit and gathered some parts to work on a fun project. I did download the 64 bit edition of Raspberry Pi OS and gave it a try. Supposed to be just in Beta but looks fine but I really only checked a few minor things. Lots of stuff I can't even touch to test and don't ever want to try. My last coding language was Fortran. I have done some but a very limited amount in Python.
Burned a bit of Black Cherry incense today. No lap cat today at least not yet. Fozzy did join me for awhile last night after I had finished my entry.
Probably need to start another HEB delivery tonight. Probably schedule it for Thursday or Friday. I will just have to look when their delivery times are.
In other space related items the next full moon is on August 3rd. Might start following that.
Got another political phone survey today. Seems like I get several a week. Fortunately, I get to vote by mail.
Need to check the front door for the sounds of the night. I hear the same chirping I did last night. Don't know what it is though.
Going to watch for mushrooms. Should have time to come up before the next time the lawn company comes. I didn't see any yesterday. I have taken pictures of some of them before.
I did get the truck started yesterday and drove it around some. Not far though. Still I think a good truck. Got to do that a little as not to let it set for too long without being driven. I still like my truck. I have had it forever.
Today was an eBay day. Got at least one more outstanding item yet to come. eBay is good for just about anything that you want to find regardless of how obscure. Just have to look hard sometimes.
