Got more rain today.
Jul. 26th, 2020 10:06 pmWe got about an additional 5/8 of rain today. This brings the total for the past few days up to almost 2". Not at all bad really. Gary got about 6" so we got nothing like the amount that he did but it will keep the water hose coiled up for a while longer. So far this has been a decent summer as far as spacing out the rain. The lawn company should come tomorrow. The grass has grown a lot in the last few days and has greened up considerable. Really about the same height it has been in the past when they cut it. Tomorrow however does show to have a high chance of rain but if not tomorrow then probably on Tuesday.
Hanna is now well on shore and has become just a tropical depression in Mexico. Disturbance 1 about in the middle Atlantic according to almost all of the spaghetti models is forecast to turn and move up the coast of the US and not enter the Gulf but still a long way out there. And it looks like it is under a Saharan dust cloud too.
Looks like one launch a day starting on the 28th for about the next four days. Don't know how many of those I can watch live. But will try to watch as many as I can.
Did some project work today. Just a fun one. Something I saw and thought I could do myself. Not quite ideal but it did work and only took a few minutes to finish.
Gold prices is just soaring. I see that it well above $1900 an ounce. Now I am beginning to suspect it might reach $2000 an ounce in the not to distant future. Crude is pretty much staying in a narrow range.
Checked some gas prices today while I was out and about. Saw a high of $1.99 and a low of $1.75. The station I usually check showed a price of $1.83. Slowly moving up. Maybe more people are driving now so the demand has picked up some.
Today was a good day for a lap cat. Twist was the participant. Seemed to enjoy himself. I think I remember I did Black Cherry and Vanilla today for incense burns.
For housework today I did clean up the kitchen and load the dishwasher. Haven't put them up yet though.
Being Sunday today no eBay but I did happen to see the USPS out delivering packages today. Still don't know what the criteria is for Sunday delivery. Still have a few outstanding items on eBay. Kind of the norm for me.
I watched a bit more of Star Trek on CBS all access. My TV is a bit finicky about connecting but it always eventually does. Need to remember that tomorrow night is my game show, The Wall. I forgot it last week.
Listening at the front door I can hear something outside sort of chirping. Don't know what it is. Maybe frogs or gecko's. crickets. Don't ever seem to hear them in my office. I do have insulated class windows so maybe that cuts down on the sound.
With all the rain we have been having I am pretty sure we will get mushrooms coming up soon. I have in the past gotten some fairly complete fairy rings.
Lots of Gary Text. Weather, lawn mowing, pine needles, lawn companies.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
