A good rain today.
Jul. 25th, 2020 10:12 pmYes. Today was a good rain and I think it was courtesy of Hurricane Hanna. I checked my rain gauge after I think all the rain had ended and we got an inch and 3/8 over the last 24 hours. Gary got 5 inches plus. It did seem like we were slipping in between the bands of the storm. They were either above us or below us and we for the most part were just catching the edges. We did get some heavy rain fall at times. Still some decent rainfall percentages for the next few days.
Hurricane Hanna moved ashore today in far South Texas as I think possibly a category two Hurricane. I heard them mention it might make that on the Weather Channel but don't really know if it did. Even as far south as it was we were still getting rain bands pass over us. Tropical Storm Ganzalo just died out. It dissipated. Might not be the end. I guess the remnants could still reform. And there is another Disturbance 1. It too is far enough south to have the potential to move into the Gulf. However the spaghetti models which mostly seem to agree have it turning and moving up the coast of the US and not moving into the Gulf. Things have gotten kind of active now.
It does look like two huge blobs of Saharan dust are in the Atlantic moving this way. Playing the forecast ahead it shows the first one reaching us on Tuesday. So we are in for yet more dust and there is another behind this one.
No project work today. Although I did come up with a new project and gathered up some materials for it I haven't really done any work on it. All other projects are still waiting.
Was a good incense day. I burned two and I know one was Dragon's Blood and not sure about the other one. Do enjoy my strike anywhere matches to light them.
Tomorrow being Sunday it is LOL Cats. Always enjoy reading that.
The yard certainly is being helped by all the rain.
I don't think I heard fireworks last night. They generally have fireworks on game nights that fall on a Friday but I don't seem to have heard them. I see if they have them next Friday.
Nothing really new on the launch schedule. About the same schedule as yesterday but one moved back a day.
Gas prices moved up just a bit today. I saw $1.89. Crude isn't really moving so I'm not sure why the price is slowly moving up.
I did fold and put up laundry today.
Starting to get national election phone surveys.
Just went out to retrieve my recycle bin. Did manage to put it out this morning. No wind but it did get wet. I think I will catch up on recyclables this week. Heard all kinds of noises outside. Crickets and I think those were a lot of geckos too. I guess I just can't hear those in my office because I am mostly always listening to music. The night is really alive with sounds outside.
I managed to watch a couple of episodes of Star Trek on CBS All Access. I think I finished season one.
Texted with Ashley and Gary. Weather mostly. Hurricane Hanna, rain. Lantern wicks, essential oils and kerosene.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
