Finally, some rain.
Jul. 17th, 2020 10:14 pmYes, we got rain today and I got to read my rain gauge for the first time. Looks like we got just short of an eighth of an inch. Not just a whole lot of rain but it will wet things down. On Radar it looked like the top and bottom part of the storm got the most rain and the middle which passed over us didn't have as much. Gary got 1.61 inches of rain. Not bad at all. It does look like the coming week has a lot of decent chance of rain including tomorrow evening. Plus it is going to be cooler for the next week or so as this rain is forecasted to stretch into next week. So should get a good lawn watering for a nice stretch of time.
And as has been the normal for the past several days the National Hurricane Center's map show nothing developing or becoming a disturbance. So clear for now but always got to check that.
Gold has once again climbed above $1800 an ounce. I think eventually it is going to stay above that. Crude is just basically staying fairly stable and not moving up or down much. Been that way for the last several days. It has fallen back somewhat from its recent high but not by much.
Finally got some parts in for another project. Wasn't an eBay order though so today wasn't an eBay day. But like almost always I do have things still on order on ebay. Trying to make a part for a project of find something to make it work. Still have the eBay option though.
Another nice text day with Gary. Weather and other items. Jealous of the amount of rain he got.
No lap cat yet. Sometimes Fozzy will come late at night. And another day without incense.
Heard fireworks going off outside tonight and had a grand finale too. Don't know where they were coming from. I suspect from the ball park as they sounded about right to be coming from there. Don't know what event would be going on there though. Just checked the events at Constellation Field and it was the usual Friday night fireworks after a baseball game. I heard birds earlier in the evening.
Got my HEB delivery and got that all put away. They were right on time and only one substitution. Missed most of The History Detective but did manage to catch the very end. It was followed by a very interesting special on Egypt and some of the kings and last pyramids. Another very interesting program on PBS. They always seem to have some interesting on.
Just clicked on the wrong tab actually and took a brief look at the Galveston live cams.
Two launches still scheduled on the 19th. I hope at least one of them goes this time. There have been so many postponements. I know they have reasons. Kind of the normal. I would certainly want everything perfect also. Too much risk.
Looks like we are going to get a break from the Saharan Dust beginning very early Sunday morning. At least that is what the simulation show. And probably be dust free at least through Monday. Going by what the simulation shows. although it looks like there is still plenty more to come. And this might well be keeping storms from forming in the gulf.
No free premium channel preview this weekend.
And today was cheese sandwich day. Just a tradition and always good even if made with whole wheat bread.
Hoping the Museum of Natural Science holds another online auction. Want to try my luck again and it seems I can always find an interesting item to bid on. So far my only wins were on items that I was the only bidder.
Got to check and see how the gas prices are doing. Next errand out I will try to remember.
Fozzy is lap cat of the day.
