Warm and humid but no rain.
Jul. 5th, 2020 10:24 pmAnother day without rain. I think it has been just a few days since we got our last rain. I know it has been at least since I put my rain gauge out and maybe that is the problem. Like the opposite of washing a car. Looks like the rain chances on Monday are no more but still a decent chance of rain on Tuesday. Always the possibility of the afternoon heating type scattered showers. Looks like there were a few of those around on radar. But seeing them on radar is about as close as we got to one. Don't know if the Saharan dust is still hanging around.
Now for a look at what is happening in the way of tropical cyclones. Lots of stuff. Edouard has formed in the Atlantic. Just going to move further out to sea. And then there is the orange thing just off the coast of Florida which means it might develop into something. Going to move over Florida. And another disturbance a long way from the Windward Islands. Going to watch that one because of where it is now.
Really quiet tonight. I usually hear a little lessor of a repeat performance of the 4th on the day after. Don't think I have heard a single thing go off tonight. Just odd. Might be some. Always seems to be but I haven't heard any. Well, I take that back. I just heard one. Two. So there are people out tonight shooting fireworks. Guess I spoke too soon. But it does seem to be fewer. Last night wasn't that bad. I don't remember being kept away too late. I know I heard plenty past midnight. The little show I did for myself was fun. Picked it all up and put everything for the most part away. I sent some pictures of it to Mary and Kevin. A really low key and subdued show but just how exciting can a show of nothing but sparklers be. It was fun. Putting it together and firing it. Don't have the computer controller anymore. Using parts of it for another project. Might rebuild it though.
My lap had Twist for a resident today. Let him fall asleep as much as possible. He can do a good job of that from time to time.
Actually did burn some incense today. Dragon's blood.
Of course being Sunday no eBay today although I did see a USPS mail truck across the street and I do know they deliver some kind of service on Sunday because I have gotten packages before from them on Sunday.
Full moon tonight. I haven't been outside to look to see but according to Google it started last night. Still showing the next launch of the Falcon 9 on a Star Link Mission to be on July 8th. Really looking at the launch schedule there are a lot of people launching a lot of rockets.
Looks like crude oil is staying kind of close to its recent high. Didn't look at any gas prices today. Was $1.82 for the ones I saw yesterday. Gold is high but still watching for it to break $1800. Don't know if it ever will. Haven't looked at platinum price in a long time. I see that gold is more expensive now.
My HEB Delivery is on Tuesday. Still haven't thought of anything else I might need. Got another day to think about it though.
Last minute addition. Fozzy made it into the lap cat category tonight. Always welcome.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
