More of the haze today. The Dust is still here. Don't really know when it is going to change. And we didn't get any rain but the radar did show some areas that did. We will just have to wait until Sunday which shows a decent chance of rain.

And for today's big news. Evidently there was some kind of car chase with other deciding factors and one of the participants crashed into a power pole. And it just happened to be the one that fed our subdivision. So we lost power about 4:30 or so. It wasn't just any pole. It was the pole that carried the branch lines to our subdivision from the main lines. Couldn't have hit a worst pole. But really for what the electric company had to do they restore power amazing quick. Just out maybe five hours. So much thanks to the power company. Broke the pole so that had to be replaced. So the house is returning to normal.

I had power from the solar system batteries so I got to stay on line. So rare to lose power out here. Dependable system but things like that just happen sometimes.

Got to reset the garage door to work on the opener.

Had another eBay day today. The rain gauge did come in today just like they said it would and it is now installed. Should work just fine. Have to wait probably until Sunday or so to get some actual rain in it.

Heard some fireworks earlier in the evening. Only a few. So far has been really quiet. The 4th is on a Saturday.

No lap cat today. Not a day for an incense burn either.

I did do some project work. Just a fun little project with some stuff on hand but still have a few things left on it. Just something I wanted to do for fun.

The disturbance that yesterday was between us and Africa now has been given a 0 percent chance of development at least for the next 5 days. Still is hurricane season. Maybe the dust had something to do with it.

Looks like the launch of the Falcon 9 for the non star link mission is still on. They actually have a launch window starting at 3:55 pm Eastern Daylight Time which would make it 2:55 here. Going to try to remember the time. Still no time given for the Falcon 9 Star Link Mission.

I think all those Star Link Satellites are going to be about in an orbit 500 miles high or something like that. I guess in terms of the speed of light that is really nothing but I do kind of wonder about the delay. I know in Saudi at the time all the phone communications moved over geosynchronous satellites which were about 25,000 miles above the earth. The time it took to get to the station up and down from the satellite to the next station was noticeable. Maybe just on the order of a half a second or so for someone to reply but it was noticeable. I think now everything moves on underseas cables.

Did look some more at the Galveston cams. Always seems decently busy.

The misquote treatment did make it today. With all the rain I am sure it is needed.

Did some Gary text. Back and forth.

Had to reset all my clocks.

Waiting for the next Houston Museum of Natural History auction. Going to try again.

I think that is going to do it for tonight.
