Really poured last night
Jun. 25th, 2020 10:07 pmWell, according to the place I finally found that carried rainfall amounts we got just under 2.5 inches of rain in the last 24 hours meaning most of it fell last night. Rained just about all night and well into the morning. Last night had plenty of lightening and thunder too. Nothing much on radar right now but according to the Weather Channel we are suppose to get more rain starting about 2:00 am this morning. There was a big area of rain moving north from the gulf that looked like it might reach us but nothing seems to remain of it. Also had some wind today. Kind of reminded me of a place I use to live. The wind there was almost constant.
Checking the tropics and the other places that need watching the National Hurricane Center evidently doesn't have anything to show. Could always change quickly though. The dust cloud from the Sahara was suppose to reach here today and is probably here now but the rain last night and this morning probably muted that a bit.
it looks like the Falcon 9 is actually going to launch tomorrow. It keeps getting postpone but so far tonight it is going to launch at 4:19 pm eastern daylight time which means here it is going to be 3:19 pm. Looking forward to seeing it. Always enjoy seeing it launch. And then on June 30 there is going to be another Falcon 9 launch.
Finally did the right thing and ordered another rainfall gauge. My old one just broke and I don't really know why. I could just search the internet for rainfall but this just gives us a quick and very local answer. I also got another package in from eBay to day. Nothing really odd about that. Just worth a mention.
The package I got was for a project. Got it settled and working. Not really doing a whole lot on project lately. Really need my shop for that. And even though the temperature is not bad sometimes the humidity is always terrible.
I have a radiometer. Pretty sure it still works.
Fozzy was today's lap cat. Seems like he couldn't get comfortable so only stayed a short time. Some times it's a full on nap for him. Not sure if he or twist is bigger.
The other daily report of incense burning was vanilla for the day.
Listens to my niece's pod cast last night. An interview with the owner, president, and other titles of a meadery. I learned a lot about the insiders view and secrets of honey. Didn't know a lot of that and just now wonder about what I have used in the past. Was very interesting. Located in Oregon. I think they can ship to here. Some states are funny about that.
So many years ago I took a beer brewing class. The instructor explained about the laws here. Don't really remember much but they seemed odd. May have changed since that was so long ago.
Kind of cleaned up the bathroom. Organize and cleaned a bit.
Put together another HEB Delivery order. Getting low on dinner food. No problem making it until the next delivery though. So good to have that service available.
Still checking the Galveston web cams.
Checking the radar. Don't know where this rain at 2:00 am is going to come from. Don't see anything on the radar but I guess the weather people know a lot more than me.
Gary text exchange today. Mostly weather. Actually all weather.
Maybe this weekend will be an free premium channel preview. Haven't had one in a while.
That is going to do it for tonight.
