looks like rain soon.
Jun. 24th, 2020 10:16 pmThere is a squall line that formed to the north of us. Doesn't look like it is moving as all but seems to be expanding to the south. I can hear thunder just every now and then and it has to be coming from there as there is nothing else close. Will have to keep an eye on it. Probably will know by other means though if it getting closer. Still a decent chance of rain for the next several days.
Well, tonight's big news is that I lost the Houston Museum of Natural Science Auction. Supposedly two others outbid me within something like the last 50 or so minutes of the auction. Was just too high for me to bid again so I let it go. The only auctions I have won have been where I was the only bidder. I thought it was a nice item and would have made a nice Christmas or Birthday item.
Looks like we should be getting some light rain now but the radar can reflect off of rain that isn't reaching the ground but the line is expanding.
Today's incense winner was lavender. Just the one for today. I kind of just pick what I feel at the moment and kind of what I haven't burned in awhile.
Cleaned up the kitchen which is something that happens often. And got all the dishes into the dishwasher. Not going to run it until I have more of a full load.
No real project work today. And the odd day that I didn't get something in from eBay.
For another of my daily reports no lap cat participants today. Have to make up for that tomorrow.
I haven't watched any of CBS all access in a few days. Still have quite a few Star Trek shows to watch. From the best I can tell this series parallels the original Star Trek.
Still watching the storm and it doesn't look like it is moving just somewhat expanding to the south but nothing so far. Must be dumping a lot of rain in that area. Haven't heard any thunder in a while either.
Lots of texting back and forth with Gary. Weather, work, other.
The Falcon 9 rocket is still scheduled for launch tomorrow. About 3:39 pm our time. Trying my best to remember. Really amazes me to see the booster land on the drone ship. Just a tiny spot in the ocean.
Still taking an occasional look at the Galveston cams. Watched some PBS science shows tonight. Use to be the night that NOVA was on.
Still looking at all the new electric cars and trucks coming out. Still got plenty of time to decide. My Bolt is so fun to drive. So quiet. Just has a special feel to driving. I see where Electrify America is building a network of super chargers spacing them about every 70 miles or so along some selected routes. One of them is along I-10 meaning when they say they will finish in September I will be able to drive all the way to my relatives house with no problem. Now I think I could make it but everything has to be working just right. And have to reset my car to charge to 100%. Don't have any worries right now charging to just 90%. Plenty for the length and type of driving that I do.
And a check of the tropics and all that other area doesn't show anything happening. I don't know what happened to that other storm. Just seems to have disappeared. And that dust cloud from the Sahara is suppose to make it here tomorrow.
Going to listen to a pod cast on mead tonight.
I think that will do it for tonight.
