Got plenty of rain today.
Jun. 22nd, 2020 10:58 pmIt did rain today. Quite a lot actually with lots of thunder and lightening with some of it very close. And then there was this long duration thunder that sounded very much like a jet taking off. Close to an airport but never heard anything like that so it was the thunder. Just strange the way it sounded. Not quite as odd as the one time we had snow thunder storm. Only heard one in my life. Kind of this soft muted thunder. And much more rain in the forecast. Looks like on into Saturday.
The disturbance in the Atlantic has now become subtropical depression four. Doesn't look like much else happening anywhere in the tropics. Oh, there is this great big dust cloud coming from the Saharan Desert that is suppose to arrive here some time this week. Suppose to suppress storm formation too.
Tomorrow is another launch of the Falcon 9 rocket on another Star Link job. I have remembered so far and I think it is suppose to be around 4:30 our time. Need to check that just to make sure. Now postponed until June 25 so I have to remember just a bit longer. Doesn't give a launch time. Then another one scheduled for June 30th.
So far I am still ahead on my auction item with the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Still about two days to go so let's see if my bid holds up. Ending on June 24 at 9:00 pm.
My usual viewing pleasure for Monday night is Fast and Loud but not on.
Actually sort of did some work on a project. Mostly I just sorted and put away spare parts and gathered up all the tools and put them in my tool box. Just generally cleaned up the area. Much too hot in the Shop to really do any kind of work out there. Probably could have today as it was rather cool due to all the rain but really didn't think about it.
Put up dishes today from the Dishwasher. Was going to do some vacuuming but didn't. Put some boxes into the recycle bin.
Tonight instead of waiting until the last minute which is what I usually do I reprinted my income tax, paid the government what I owed and mailed it tonight. So that chore is done. I had to reprint them because I made a slight change. One of these times I might actually do them electronically. I also see that you can charge your taxes to a credit card. Ages ago it was kind of fun to watch everyone come to the post office to mail their taxes. Probably rare that anyone does that now.
No lap cat participants today. Miss that. And today's incense winner was jasmine.
Got another eBay package today. Getting to be an everyday thing with me.
And still watching live cams from Galveston.
Lots of text back and forth from Gary. Mostly talking about the rain and weather.
And the geckos have certainly been silent for a long time. I do see the occasional one outside but none have been making noise at night.
Went though my in box today. Don't really have one but I just call it that and sorted out all the letters and stuff. Filed stuff and put some in the paper recycle. Clean desk now. Found some stamps that I kind of though I had but wasn't sure. Still need to mail the odd item or two.
Some times on very quiet and still nights I can hear the trains moving through Sugar Land. At least I think I can.
Finally switched my lap top from SETI@Home to another project. No more work units coming out of SETI.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
