No rain on Memorial Day
May. 25th, 2020 11:34 pmWell. No rain today. Not sure if it actual rained in the early morning but today was rain free. I can look on the radar and see rain that looks like it is moving in from the West. Looks like the highest starting chance is about 3:00 am. Our company gave everyone an extra day off for Memorial day so at least they will have one dry day.
No mail today so not much reason to go outside. Probably go for a drive tomorrow.
I posted a picture of my Father sometime during WWII. Not exactly sure of the date because the picture wasn't dated. It does show him holding a koala bear so I guess he is somewhere in Australia. I think my brother has all of the old photos from that time. I posted it for Memorial Day.
I finally did my HEB curbside shopping today. Was starting to run low on food but I really have plenty but some of it is just not my first choice. I decided just to go with delivery. Just feel a bit safer doing that in that nothing is loading into my car. Things aren't as crazy. Can actually get next day delivery. For a while just had to be lucky to get a curbside pickup date.
Only Twist claimed the lap cat prize today. Fozzy curled up next to my legs but never made it into my lap.
Todays incense was Jasmine. Smells really nice. I only have a selection of four right now so there is going to be a lot of repetition.
Thought I just heard thunder outside. According to radar I probably did. It looks like light rain is already started to move into the area.
I rewired my solar central battery and distribution center to have a 12 volt buss. I need that for a modification I am planning. I have a 24 volt buss but it is already loaded up. I need to expand that to a second buss. The 12 volt system pulls power from the 42 volt system and steps it down. I don't really have a 12 volt battery system anymore.
Talked to Gary on Hangouts. Talked some about the weather. And some about new people showing up at the office.
I am still watching the Last Kingdom series on NetFlix. Mailed back in Frozen II but haven't heard anything of my next selection. Day 2 of CBS all access and I may have watched a combined total of 10 minutes. Really cheap so I don't mind if I go over their 7 day free trial and have to pay for a month.
And tonight's viewing pleasure was Barnwood Builders saved from Sunday night. My seemingly extra smart DVR recorded the second showing too and got the entire episode. Also tonight was Fast and Loud but I only watched about 20 minutes of it. I will finish tomorrow probably. Tuesdays viewing pleasure is now kind of a desert since The Curse of Oak Island isn't on. PBS is still in its Marathon Downton Abby showing.
I constructed a universal joint out of cardboard, some half inch dowel and scraps of wood. Haven't really tested it out yet. Really not hard to build and looks neat enough to be built using hot glue.
Still the high bidder in the Houston Museum of Natural Science with just under two days left. A nice item and I am hoping to win this one. I might actually up my bid if I am outbid. Supposedly done by a famous designer. And according to Google he is. I have really only had one designer item in my life and that was a shirt my mom found for me in the church clothing room. Most everything has just been general.
And that should probably do it for tonight.
