Did rain today
May. 24th, 2020 10:03 pmDid get rain and heavy at times. Right now it has stopped and actually stopped in the late evening. More rain is forecast for tomorrow. My weather forecasting friend says this is looking a lot like the weather pattern that caused the Memorial Day Flood. Radar shows a pretty heavy band of showers moving in from the west. The people that should know say it is expect to get here between one and two am. Also cooling off quite a bit too. My friend to the north said it was already 65 °F early this afternoon. Local temperature says it is 69 °F and says that is the low for the night.
I now have CBS all access. Kind of difficult to get things to start playing so I don't know if it just buffering or I just have to fiddle with it a lot. Eventually it does start and the quality is really good. Haven't watched much at all on it. I really want to watch the new Star Trek on in and I think I read that there are putting together more episode of Star Trek Voyager.
Tonight's viewing pleasure was Barnwood Builders. Power went off sometime today and I didn't notice for some reason. Some times the DVR doesn't reset when the power dips which happened tonight and I didn't catch it until after my show had started. So I missed part of it but I don't know how much. I think I am going to watch it tomorrow though.
Today's lap cat participants were both Fozzy and Twist. Twist stayed until my leg fell asleep. Fozzy just couldn't seem to get comfortable enough or maybe the sound from the computer was distracting.
I finally did remember to burn my incense today. I selected lavender. Nice smell and it really goes throughout the entire house.
More kitchen cleaning today which is essentially never ending. I put up the dishes and silverware also. I hung up two loads of t-shirts in the laundry closet but haven't moved them to my closet. I also did a little vacuuming today. Haven't done any of that in a while. Probably do a little more tomorrow. I have to order more bags for it.
Filled my recycle bin with paper and it is already for next Saturday to go out and be recycled. Got an early start on this one. I really don't have to separate my plastics and paper. They could both go out at the same time but I just do that.
Read LOL Cats today. It comes out every Sunday and I always look forward to seeing it.
I took out the speakers from the computer that I think I got at least two computers ago and connected them to my old Windows 7 machine to possibly get better sound than going through the HDMI on my old TV. Got them connected but I haven't tried it yet. Doesn't have a subwoofer like my current machine has. It does have a connector for one but not sure that I really need one. Probably just use them as it. I think they will sound fine.
I probably need to check on my Houston Museum of Natural Science bid. They usually send a text message to my Google hangouts phone number if I have been outbid. Still have I think at least three days to go. Going to check the bids anyway. Still the highest bidder. Some neat stuff in this Auction. A couple of items that I also considered.
Forgot to check to see if the current episode of This Old House was on today. PBS is still running the marathon Downton Abby. At least the one time I checked today it was still on. I do miss watching Red Dwarf. I got addicted to it when I was in England. Can't really watch it in the US. British comedy is different but just as enjoyable.
I added a new project to my Boinc. Seti@Home is no longer sending out work units for the time being. Should check my account and just see how much time my computers have in on that project. I have been with Seti@Home I think since I have had a home computer.
Linux seems to be working well. I'm glad I did that instead of sending this machine to recycle. Have it on my work table.
Actually got a new phone book this week. So I guess at least one company is still making phone books.
Now it looks like the rain isn't going to start until 3:00 am.
My silver coins are on the way. These will bring my collection up to day.
Been watching a lot of YouTube. Found some new stuff and subscribed.
That should be it for tonight.
