Rain today

No rain in the forecast for today but it pretty much rained some all day long. Even had some lightening and rolling thunder. Some fairly close. Not suppose to rain today. Fortunately my cardboard recycles were picked up before it started to rain. Got to bring my bin back in as I didn't do that today.

Lap cat today was Fozzy. I think he believes he has an obligation to spend a fixed amount of time in my lap. After that he gets up and goes to his night time sleeping spot under my old antique desk.

Spent some time on CAD for my Electric Bike. Had to redo some. Mistakes in measuring. That is why there is CAD.

Fixed the connection on my chiller. Had to replace some of the wiring because it just wouldn't tin. Connections are all nice and cool now.

Running my chiller off of my collection of 18650 batteries. Need to let it run all night to see the impact on the batteries. The inverter will shut down if the battery voltage drops too low.

I watched more episodes of moon shiners tonight. I wonder why they just don't use a refluxed still. Not that had to make using packing and not hard to get packing. Just changing the reflux even in batch mode and they could distill a lot more from each batch and it would be a much higher proof. They just need to watch the overhead temperature and adjust the reflux accordingly. Wouldn't even be that had to use a computer to control the reflux. Control theory might be a challenge.

Got a package from Lehman's non Electric. Must have been something on back order because I wasn't expecting anything. Don't know what it is because it is setting in quarantine for a few days.

I think I might try to work on my night light circuit board tomorrow. The circuit works but the LED isn't really as bright as I hoped. Maybe should try a higher voltage.

Still haven't signed up for CBS all access.

One of these days I need to get a new computer chair.

Watched my two favorite shows today. This Old House and Ask This Old House. Probably been watching this old house for 40 years. That and Nova.

Finished watching Extraction.

Spend some time talking taxes on Messenger today with Gary. Don't know when my stimulus check is going to show up. Can't do anything about it other than wait. At least I know I am getting one.

Rather typical weather

No barn wood builders tonight. So I don't know if last week was the season finale or just missing a week. I am afraid summer is going to see a dry spell of programming.

The Discovery Channel did have a special for the Curse of Oak Island building up to the season finale this coming Tuesday. I wonder if they were saving the best for last and actually found something significant.

Fozzy delivered an exceptional hair ball today. Something typical of medium and long haired cats. Fortunately it was in the garage.

Cleaned up the kitchen today and ran the dish washer although I have yet to unload it. Also did a load of t-shirts for laundry today but have yet to hang them up.

The Houston Museum of Natural Science is holding another auction. I bid on a nice looking bracelet. I bid in the last auction but didn't win. So, going to try again. Just for fun.

No CAD work today. Watched a bunch more episodes of Moon Shiners thought. Talked to Gary quite a bit on Hang Outs.

No lap cat today. Nice to have kitties that love to sleep in your lap.

Retrieved my recycle bin that I put out on Saturday. This Friday will be metals and plastics. I think I already have a full bin plus.

Still watching crude oil. Never seen anything like this. Also following the gold price. Just to think that at one point the official price of gold was $32 a troy ounce. Not sure what silver was. Silver still looks like a good buy. Odd about gold ownership. Americans weren't totally free to own and trade gold until 1975.

The gold souks in Saudi were amazing. Just wall to wall gold. Nothing less than 18 karat. Hard to find anything above 14 karat in the US. The gold jewelry was sold on gold content. They just weighed it, multiplied by the cost per gram and that was the price. There was no jewelry markup at least not directly.

Still no stimulus check. Really wasn't expecting it to show up this soon especially on the weekend. But I am getting one. Talked to a friend that quickly filed his 2019 taxes so they would base the stimulus check on that. He made too much money in 2018 to qualify.

A decent chance of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Looks like cool nights on Wednesday and Thursday. Warming up next week.
