Was a heavy rain this morning.
Mar. 23rd, 2021 10:33 pmWe got what must have been at least close to an inch of rain in a very short time. I can kind of tell by the way the leaves were about half way into the street. Sort of a high water mark for the rain. I didn't empty my rain gauge before this so I don't really know how much rain we got. The forecast had pretty much discounted any rain and their simulation did show it missing us but still we got a good rain and a lot of lightning and thunder too. Listened to it for a while hitting my sky light. The rain chance for tomorrow has diminished and increased on Thursday. Don't really see anything on Radar. Looks like it is really going to be warm on Saturday. Right now my outside temperature gauge shows it to be about 60°F with 54% humidity. Officially it is 65°F with with 69% humidity. Lots of difference tonight.
Just took a brief pause to sort out the shop. Really didn't take long as I have done it so often. Did some cleaning in the shop today. Vacuumed a bit and sort through the scrap. Slowly sorting through the shop and consolidating all the item I no longer need or really see no need. It is looking better. Lots of dust though from the last project. I think I am going to start on a dresser tomorrow. Decided not to make it a dresser/desk combination because realistically no one will use it for that. So just going to make it a dresser to complete the other guest bedroom and move my project chest of drawers to the living room/project room and let the new dresser replace the hobby chest of drawers.
Today was an ordering eBay day. Didn't get anything in from anyone today. I did order two more voltage gauges that can take a higher voltage. Well, now I have built up to a backlog of six items on eBay. Doesn't look like anything coming in until Thursday and Friday.
Probably need to order some more kerosene. Probably good for the rest of the season and I don't see many more nights that I can lite my Aladdin in my office but I like to have it on hand.
So probably should be a new category something like maintenance. I put the new gas cap on the truck. Seems to fit although it does look a little different but the chart said it was the right one. I hope that was the issue for the check engine light. I will do the truck start, run and drive again on Thursday. The place I was going to take it to for an inspection is evidently closed. Wanted to go there because I could just walk home and pick it up later. Probably have to take it to the Chevrolet house now especially if the check engine light stays on.
Can't really think of anything that I did in the way of house work today. Some very minor organising in one of the guest bedrooms but really shouldn't count that. Going to put the dishes in the dishwasher before I go to bed.
I did cut some particle board for a project so that counts as wood working. I did a for fun LED project today. Almost finished it. I think it is going to look hipnotic once is it completely finished. I also tried to get my SamSung MP3 Player to connect through a different Bluetooth when the radio is on but it didn't work. So I guess it won't use Bluetooth as a speaker for the radio. I could connect the headphone jack to a preamp then to an amp and then to speakers. Just getting a little convoluted. Not sure what I can do to get an FM radio working in this house. Going to try to use my Raspberry PI to couple with an FM module to listen to FM radio. Think I can make that work.
Just ordered a new mailbox post. I think Mine is just about to break off. Want to have a replacement ready to go or just replace it once the new one gets in.
For my viewing pleasure tonight I managed to watch just a bit of The Curse of Oak Island and also a number of YouTube Video. Standard.
Think I'll go for a short drive and put the car up. Went for a short drive and got the car put up. Looks like gas prices have dropped about 4 cents a gallon.
I did manage to watch the Falcon 9 launch mainly because I set an alarm to wake me up so I could watch it. As usually they make it look so easy. Another successful launch and recovery of a booster. Did watch it live.
Tax day has been moved back to May 17th so plenty of time to print and mail my tax returns but I still have to pay my estimated taxed by then. And I have to contribute to my 401K by then too. I think. Better to pay myself and save somewhat on taxes. Think I will print them out. Got an order of typing paper this time on HEB delivery.
I think that is going to do it for tonight/today.
