Truly rain free today.
Mar. 2nd, 2021 10:12 pmStill haven't checked my rain gauge from yesterday. I think I will do that right now and report on the rain. My rain gauge shows just about six tenths of an inch. Not at all a bad little rain. Got a good soaking. Most of the grass though is the brownest I have ever seen here but I can see some green mixed in. Hopefully all will recover. Friday shows a moderate chance of rain but really not much higher than the average chance of rain here. Just have to wait. It was nice and sunny here today. Still a bit on the cool side though. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer followed by just a whole host of warm days. Going to be nice shop weather although I don't have a major project. Just going to be working on small items like my boxes and my buss bars. Got two of those to build. Outside temperature is 46°F with 72% humidity. Officially 52°F with 69% humidity. Off on the temperature.
Today was not an eBay in the delivery column. I did order one item from eBay. Don't know if I will get anything in tomorrow or not. I have now so many orders outstanding from various sources that I really can't track everything. I have Ebay, two packages from Walmart and two from Costco. Just going to let them come in as they do. I ordered an item for the cats from Walmart and more litter for them since HEB did not have the type that I always used. Just a general order of supplies that I need from Costco and more items from eBay. At least taking a look at some of the tracking I might actually get three packages in tomorrow. Going to be a busy delivery day.
For housework today I did my usual morning dishes put away and kitchen clean up. Getting the HEB delivery order should count as house work. Have to sort and put away. I did some minor cleaning in the bathroom and I also scrubbed the garage door trim with trisodium phosphate. I will paint it tomorrow. I think I have enough paint remaining to do the trim and the touch up I need to do. I also cleaned the shower head. It was really getting scaled up. Works great now after a soaking in scale remover.
No project work that I can think of. Need to put all of my fireflies back.
Just some minor wood working. Tried to make a candle holder mold using polymeric claw an a mold made from a candle and two by four. Didn't work. So I just retrieve a candle holder from my storage boxes and will use that. Was going to turn a candle holder the holder I made. Use the time for something else.
The Falcon 9 Rocket launch was postponed again. About 4:30 in the morning on March 4th. I have been waking up about that time every night. So if I do this time I will try to watch.
The people who handle our recycle dropped of new recycle containers today. A smaller version of their trash bin. Much larger than the baskets we have been using. Can hold a lot more. Going to fill it with plastic and paper for this Friday. Also I am going to put out a few more items to see if the Scrap guy will pick those up too. He picked up my last batch and took those away.
Stay with episodes of The Flash for viewing pleasure today. Mixed in some YouTube Videos too.
No lap cat today. Fozzy and Twist both just don't seem to be interested.
Gold regained a bit and move close to trading midway into $1700 an ounce. Crude has backed off a good bit from its 52 week high. Seemed to make a good solid come back and then for some reason lost ground.
Got three junk calls today. One I probably get every day.
Want to hook up my phone in the garage to my Ooma. Found part of the connection point that I need and wrote down the correct wire color but now I have to find the wires that actually went down to the phone outlet in the garage. I had it working before so the wires should still be there but haven't found them yet. Might try to find them again tomorrow.
Looking at transfer switch kits. Need one that is weather proof and so far have only found one. I think I can do it myself but I might just get it done professionally. Have to get a hammer drill if I do it myself.
Got the car put up and the shop sorted already. Didn't have much out today.
Need to finish listening to Ashley's pod cast. Tired tonight.
Got my big Dietz lamp lit in my office. Was having a problem with the wick burning out of control but changed the wick and that seems to have fixed. Well behaved tonight. Might have just filled it too full. I have my oil lamp night light and a candle burning in the kitchen.
Don't know what will arrive tomorrow.
Got my HEB delivery order in today. Did get the bread that was scratch made at HEB. I can have my cheese sandwich this Friday. Not as many substitutions as there was last time. Got my ice cream with no problem and my tea. Got the large size of the Bush's baked bean. A little too big for a single serving but I can freeze them. Substituted Pringles Sour Cream and Onions. Still good. The freezer sections look a lot better now. Were getting pretty bare.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
