Not even a hint of rain today.
Feb. 3rd, 2021 10:25 pmThis was another very nice day. Wasn't even that windy today. Just a perfect day really to be in the shop but my time was kind of limited because of the HEB Delivery today. It is going to be amazingly warm tomorrow and then turn cold for a day on Friday. Next chance of rain is the middle of next week and possibly three days of possible rain. It also looks like next week we are in for a cold spell for multiple days. Not really all that cold but cold enough to not be out in the shop. Probably have to work on project type work or house cleaning during that five or six day cold snap. Didn't see anything like that before but it is the weather and always subject to change. Outside of Friday we do have several days before the cold weather starts.
Today was a full eBay day. Got an item in and ordered another item too. So a double header eBay day. It is still in my mail box and I will get it when I got out to put up the car. Didn't get anything else in. Might get something tomorrow. Tracking shows there is a possibility but still waiting on a lot of items. I wish I could get my doors for my cabinet in. Really excited to see what those look like.
For housework today I cleaned up the kitchen and put all my used dishes in the dishwasher. I also vacuumed the kitchen floor. I did a little bit of organization of my project table too. It was getting really cluttered. Could use a bit more work but at least it isn't nearly as cluttered.
Nothing that could be considered project work but might be in the wood working category. I started to build the battery module cabinet for my new 24 volt system. Probably work on that some more tomorrow.
Wood working today I worked on the drawers and got the groves cut for the bottoms and also cut the bottoms. The drawers outside of installing the bottom and back are about the last thing left to do. I planning on giving it a steel wool smoothing as the Danish oil seems to have raised the grain just enough to make the surface feel rough. Tried a small spot and the steel wool worked well. So going to do the entire face frame.
Got my HEB delivery in today and they were just a bit early. Not all that surprised but I was ready. Got everything sorted and put up. That should be good for probably two weeks like this last delivery. Always afraid I am not going to get it all in the refrigerators but I always seem to manage.
Fozzy is my lap cat tonight. Paid my credit card bill on line today. No more paper bills it seems. I mailed my lawn companies bill last night. Addressed envelope and all for it. Probably the only regular one I do that way.
Viewing pleasure today was more YouTube Videos. Tonight there is or rather just after midnight there is suppose to be another Falcon 9 launch. And the one for early tomorrow has been rescheduled for the 5th. So many delays lately.
Gold is now trading in the lower quarter of $1800 and ounce. Crude made a nice jump today setting a new recent high and a 52 week high. Knew that was going to happen eventually. I imagine gas price are going up again.
Still waiting on my tent poles. Thinking they might still make it this week. I hope the length is right. I think too short is going to work. Might not be as arched but they should still work. Paid more for the replacement poles than I did for the tent. But these should last.
Need to put the car on charge when I put it up tonight. The heater really drains the battery. Just about got the shop sorted. Should only take a couple more minutes to put about the work bench. Don't think I am going to start a major wood working project for awhile. A couple of small things I want to build but they should kind of fall into the category of one day builds.
Got my Dietz lamp lit in my office and two candles and my oil lamp night light lit in the kitchen. My new larger Dietz lamp is actually being shipped from Texas and close to me. Kind of thinking I might get it this week. Has a three quarter inch wick versus my current lamp with a half inch wick. Something like 6 candle power I think. Just more stuff I really don't need.
Going to put out a load of paper recycle this Friday and some stuff for the scrap guy and see if he will pick it up. As usually just leave it out until time to go to bed and then bring it back in if it is not gone. He took my 8 foot light fixture.
Lawn company didn't come this week. Have been coming every other week.
Should mention that this Sunday is Super bowl Sunday. Looked up who was playing but I don't remember now. Watch the commercials.
Next full moon is February 27th. Seems like there is some other celestial event that happens during February but I can't remember. Don't know when Mardi Gras is. If it happens this month.
Got to stay up and watch the Falcon 9 Launch. Seems to still be on schedule.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
