Rain didn't make an appeartance.
Feb. 1st, 2021 10:35 pmWas actually a bright sunny day here. A little on the chilly side but it didn't seem to matter to me after I got moving in the shop. Felt pretty nice except for kind of late in the afternoon when my hands got kind of cold so I came in for awhile. Forecast shows that the next "exciting" chance of rain is not until the following Tuesday and there is going to be a cold day in between now and then but that looks to be about it. And maybe only one other cold day for the rest of the forecast. Not at all like winter here. Just seems odd. But like I have been saying winter still has a lot of time left to show us some cold weather. Still like to have some rain though. My tent poles are in country so maybe they will get here by the end of the week.
Today was an eBay in one category. I did get an order in and it was my ping pong balls to use for diffusers for my LED Projects. One less item now from eBay. Still waiting on my MaxBright Aladdin lamp and three items from Rockler. One has shipped and I found out one was oversold and wouldn't be shipped until March 6th or so and the last item I don't know the status. Those are the doors for my entertainment center.
For wood working today I put on all three of the front supports for the bottom and did some patch work with the wood filler and a good deal of hand sanding. Finally judged the top ready to stain and I did that tonight. Should have just waiting until tomorrow but I just was excited to see that project finished. So I had some time so I just stained it with the Danish oil and wiped it down tonight when I went out to put up the car. I did some wood filler work on the extra shelf too and started building the jig to help build the drawers for the entertainment center.
In the way of project work I started to recharge my 36 volt battery packs today. Got one of them recharged and another on charge. I had to build a male to male extension so I could connect them to the charger. So not just a great deal of project work. Don't have just a lot to do tomorrow on my entertainment center. I have to make the final cut on the back panel. I have two other small pieces that need to go on the drawer support but I have to wait until my dowel pins come in. Probably later in the week I will be doing a bit more project work.
For house work today I just decided to see why one of my wall plugs was loose. Has been that way since I bought the house so I guess it is time to fix it. I found that the bolts that secure the plug just wouldn't tighten down. So I got my thread cutter and cleaned up the threads. After that no problem the bolts tighten down nicely so no more loose wall plug. I think I have one more like that some place else but I will just have to wait until I find it again. Not much else I can claim as housework today. I went through all my mail yesterday and got all that sorted.
I got two junk calls today and a call from Kevin to check on me. Talked for awhile.
Fozzy and Twist were both laps cats today. Fozzy just a while ago.
Finally got my W2 from SNC today. They always mail it at the last possible moment. I haven't opened it yet. Couldn't be for much. I think I now have a physical copy of every document that I need to do my income tax and everything else I need is on line. Not really going to have just a lot of documents this year. Most of them will come from my bank and I can easily get those on line and down loaded into my tax program. Shouldn't be just a lot to it this year. And next year I probably won't get a W2.
Really need to finish my HEB delivery order tonight and release it for a Wednesday delivery.
The Falcon 9 Star link mission is scheduled for launch tomorrow at about 5:30 am our time. If I happen to wake up about that time I will try to watch it. Next one is schedule just after 12 midnight on February 4th. I think I can easily stay up that late to watch it.
Todays viewing pleasure was just limited to YouTube videos. And seemed to be rather limited ones that I usually watch. Did watch a few of the older ones that I enjoy.
Gold seems to be holding about midway into $1800 an ounce. I think crude made a new recent high today and is on its way to pass a 52 week high mainly because the 52 week high is dropping. So most any rise now will be a 52 week high.
Didn't pay any bills today. Did do the truck start, run and drive. So keeping up with that although I only do it about every third day now instead of everyday like when I started. Still over half a tank of gas.
My outside temperature gauge shows it to be about 43°F outside with 58% humidity. Felt pretty cold when I went outside to put the car up. Officially 45°F with 61% humidity. So kind of in a reasonable range. Suppose to get down to 40°F for a rather chilly night.
Today is February 1st. Days. I've got my Dietz lamp lit in my office and two candles and my oil lamp night light lit in the kitchen.
Let's see if I am awake tomorrow to watch the launch.
