A rain free Friday.
Dec. 18th, 2020 10:13 pmNot specifically related to the day of the week we just didn't get any rain today. But that looks like it is going to change beginning about 4:00 am tomorrow. That is when the rain may start. Forecast says 100% chance of rain for tomorrow so I guess that means they are pretty sure it is going to rain. Shows rain until about mid afternoon. As usually I don't see anything on radar heading this way at all. Not that unusual. Seems like that is the cast for a lot of the rain forecast. The weather people see more than I do. The next decent chance of rain is going to be this Wednesday. A good bit higher than the normal chance of rain. Got my rain gauge mostly empty. Really didn't empty it after the last brief rain. Still really surprised about how mild the temperatures are going to stay for the remainder of the month.
Cleaned off the back porch thinking I might set my tent up there. Basically needed to move the brick I had stored there and disassemble a cat house I built for Fozzy when he was still an outdoor cat. No longer an outdoor cat but I think Fozzy still thinks he is. Worry much less about him being inside now. Too much meanness about. The back porch is plenty big. Will put an old shower curtain under it to protect it from the concrete. Plus won't have to worry about taking it down for the lawn company. Mostly now just when rain is expected.
I think I mentioned that the lawn company came on Monday. Probably won't be back until after the first of the year. Which isn't that far away. The Winter Solstice is this Monday and only three days away. Christmas is just now seven days away and New Years will follow shortly after that. So 2020 will be over and a new year will start.
Today was not an eBay day. Didn't order anything or get anything delivered today. Been about two days since I ordered something on eBay. Not really a record of any kind it just seems like I have been ordering a lot lately both from eBay and other companies. Can't really tell about getting anything tomorrow although at least one of the Bangles I won at auction might get delivered tomorrow. Hard to tell if anything else might make it. Did get a surprise package in today. The size of the box didn't match anything I had ordered and after checking I couldn't find anything that showed it was delivered today. Actually it was a surprise gift from a friend. I am going to wait until Christmas to open it.
I did put up my stocking in front of the fireplace and created a joint stocking for Fozzy and Twist. They will have to share one as I only had two stocking. And I put my Christmas wreath on the front door. Wanted to get lights up this year but my light sequencer isn't finished. I guess I could put some up anyway. Still have time.
No real project work today. Just added another connector to the ribbon cable. I need some more parts but I think I will hold off ordering for awhile until I clear a few more projects like my blanket chest and coffee table. I think I am going to replace the 36 volt system on my solar system with another 24 volt system. I have the battery pack for it that will store more energy than the current 36 volt system. Don't know what I am going to do with the 36 volt system. Don't really have room for both the new 24 volt system and the old 36 volt system. Well, everything at the moment is shaded by the house so the solar system is just really dormant now.
Did some wood work today. Had to do a bit of rework but got that done. Finally started on the assembly of my coffee table. Should get more of it done tomorrow and of course I didn't get as much done as I foresaw doing. Doesn't really matter. I don't have a schedule or a deadline. I just finish when I do. I hope to start fitting the skirt on my blanket chest tomorrow. Going to take just a good bit of work and patience to get that done. It is about the only think lacking that I can do on the blanket chest. At least from the outside it will look finished. Looks like I am going to have to hunt more for the right hinge. Seems like I found one last time.
Just a little bit of house work. Did some vacuuming mostly just so I could say I did some housework. Well, I did put the trash bin out tonight. Getting a bit heavy so I thought I would put it out. Should put out my recycle bin but I don't like to do that when it is going to rain. Just gets everything wet. Don't want the recycle people to have to deal with that.
I thought Twist was going to be a lap cat there for a moment but I guess he decided otherwise. Fozzy hasn't made it to lap cat status today either.
Got the shop all sorted out and ready for the car. Haven't put it up yet. Will before I go to bed. Still haven't checked to see if this is a premium channel free preview weekend. Try to remember before going to bed.
Did my cheese sandwich today. Always good but I think the cheese slices are really sized for white bread and not my whole wheat. But still good.
Tomorrow a Falcon 9 is scheduled to launch. Kind of early in the morning so don't know if I will be up in time to watch it. I think this is their last launch of the year. And kind of looks like the last available launch to watch. Don't know about all the foreign launches.
Gold is holding in the upper range of $1800 an ounce. Crude is making some good moves up. Getting close to $50 a barrel. I am pretty sure it hasn't been that high in awhile. Still not the high for the year but higher than it has been for the past several months. Gas prices probably went up again but I'm not going to check tonight when I go outside to put the car up.
For tonight it was more of The Flash that filled my viewing pleasure time. I noticed it has six season and I am on season four at the moment. So got a few more episodes to go. Included the usual YouTube videos too in my viewing pleasure.
Still have my HEB order open. Don't think I am going to work on it tonight. Probably do that some tomorrow. I think I will pause here and go put the car up. Well, got the car put up. Not too bad outside. Still cool but warmer that it has been. Put the car on charge too.
Looks like I might wake up to rain tomorrow.
