Today it did rain.
Dec. 11th, 2020 08:00 pmRain came here today. Just as it was forecast but only got a short period of rain and not quite the all day or most all day affair that was forecast. Still it was some rain and by my rain gauge measurement we got about 0.57 inches of rain. Not bad at all. Just about more than the entire month of November. December is definitely starting out different than November. Tomorrow looks dry with no chance of rain but Sunday is showing 100% chance of rain so I guess it is going to rain on Sunday. Temperatures are going to drop somewhat but it looks like the rest of the forecast has pretty moderate temperature. The forecast does have an up and down chance of rain and actually shows a decent chance of rain on Christmas eve. The forecast now goes out that far.
Today is the 11th of December. Days. Going to be the 12th in just a little while.
Don't think today was an eBay day. Nothing showed in tracking that was delivered but I haven't checked the mail today so I don't really know. Might get an item or two in tomorrow and maybe actually get something for Fozzy and Twist. I did place a project related eBay order today. Not exactly what I wanted but easy enough to make it work. Just have to do some cutting. But regardless of what I got I was still going to have to do some cutting. Still a long way out are the many Bangles I won playing the bidding game. Was fun and now I have five bangles of various types coming in. But may be a few more days.
The Falcon 9 launch scheduled for today was scrubbed I think because of the weather. The other launch, Rocket 3.2 I couldn't find anything. Tomorrow is the schedule launch of an Electron rocket by rocket labs and maybe the Falcon 9 has been rescheduled for tomorrow. I can't find anything on that though. More launches upcoming during the month. I will just have to watch the schedule.
No real house work today. I did mix the oils for another batch of soap. I don't think that counts as housework. Should have unloaded the dishwasher. That would have counted. I just did have enough olive oil. Almost down to the last drop but I had a little more regular food olive oil if I was just a bit short. I have an order in for more so certainly by the time I need it for another batch it will be ready.
Paid a paperless bill today. Haven't gotten a paper bill in awhile except for my lawn company so I might have by now entirely converted over to paperless billing. It won't be that much longer before I do the sorting and filling for the year. I will have just a bit less to file now.
Did my cheese sandwich tradition today. Always good and kind of one day with a set menu. Did just get the bread I needed yesterday in the HEB delivery.
The shop needs to be sorted out tonight before I can put the car up. I did finish at least constructing the new top for my blanket chest. Got a lot of sanding to do tomorrow but I think I can finally stain it. Got to wait at least 8 hours for the stain to dry before I can apply the finish. Don't think I have enough left to complete it though but I do have some more on order. Don't know when it will get here. That will leave just the skirt to finish and the bottom of the chest. I don't have the right material for it so I might just use something on a temporary basis until I can get what I need. I need to do some more searching to find the hinge that I need. So it might just have to look nice for awhile before I can truly call it finished. I had more planned to do in the shop today but just like it always seems the items I planned to do in my head never seem to fit the actual schedule. Maybe tomorrow I can get close to back on track. Just that sometimes the steps I need to do for something else are in use by a project and I just have to wait.
Got my Aladdin lit in my office. Keeping it nice and warm in here. Probably going to set my soap mold up tomorrow and prepare the saponification agent. Got to get everything to the right temperature and then I can make soap. Got to let it age for three weeks so it always takes a bit of lead time to make before my current supply runs out.
Crude and gold pretty much look just about like yesterday. Still trading about where they were. Might check a gas price tonight or two just to see if anything has changed.
More episodes of The Flash tonight for viewing pleasure and more YouTube Videos. Still haven't checked to see if this is a premium channel free preview weekend or not.
Think I will take a short break and sort out the shop and return in just a few minutes. Got the shop sorted. Really do need to dedicate some time to cleaning up all the dust.
Got my trash bin out tonight. Needed it. Just about full.
Poured a couple more paraffin candles tonight from left over wax. May have enough to pour one more candle. Need to order some more soy wax and some candle scents.
Just put the car up. Foggy outside and very still. Should have guessed there would be fog. My outside temperature gauge shows 99% humidity. Not all that thick right now. There is a dense fog warning out. Might get really foggy with the temperature continuing to drop.
Didn't put the car on charge.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
