One more rain free day.
Nov. 8th, 2020 10:24 pmJust the same as all the other days before it. Not a hint of rain today although last night there was a dense fog advisory posted for this area. So probably a heavy dew fall too. I got up about a little after 9:00 so I guess most of the fog had burned off by then. I don't see any kind of advisory for fog tomorrow although we have been getting some moderate to heavy dew falls lately. The temperatures look like they are going to continue this Autumn heat wave for the rest of the forecast. This area is under high pressure which is keeping us dry and warm. Still managed to make it through the day without turning on the air conditioner although the temperature in the house did make it to the air conditioner set point. I can certainly tell there are neighbors with a lot lower air conditioner set point than mine. I could hear them starting and running tonight.
I heard motor cycles starting for tonight's unusual sound of the night. Other than that mostly the same for everything else. It seems that the gecko's have given up for the season though as I haven't heard them in a while. I took down my tent tonight because I think this is the week my lawn company comes on Monday and they usually come pretty early. Still like spending some outdoor time in it. I took everything out of it today and put the tent in the sun to dry it out and to air it out. It had begun to smell a bit mustty. Now it smell nice and fresh again. I will put it back up after the lawn company leaves.
Actually did some housework today. Cleaned the kitchen and got all the dishes run through the dishwasher but haven't put them up yet. I probably need to run a load of whites through tomorrow. Did just a small bit of project work today too. Just started on one of my battery management system for my battery modules. But really didn't do too much. Should have worked in the shop today on my blanket chest but didn't. So looking forward to the time when I can have a permanent shop.
Being Sunday it is kind of rare to have an eBay day. So no eBay day today. No orders or deliveries. I have one left eBay order to receive and one from an outside company. No junk calls today either. I think I got two yesterday. Not really tracking them anymore. They were ones that I had gotten several times before.
Both gold and crude are up in trading tonight. Crude still has a ways to go to regain the ground it held recently. Still watching it though. I haven't checked platinum in a day or two. A couple of coins available but still not a great selection. Looks like there is still plenty of demand for platinum coins.
Text with Gary.
Watched a bit of Fear the Walking Dead tonight. Will probably finish that tomorrow. Also watch a bit of the Weather Channel coverage of Eta. It is still wondering around the Gulf.
Burning candles and not incense. No lap cat today but still time for Fozzy to make an appearance. I lit one of my Aladdin lamps in my office tonight. Quickly warmed this up a little too much. So it is off now. With the mantles in place I do think they produce a lot more heat. I think the mantels combust the unburned gases from the wick. Don't know. They do make a nice light too. Suppose to be equal to a 40 Watt bulb at maximum output. Have to be careful turning them up too much as they can carbon up the mantle and then start to smoke like crazy. Then it is a slow process to burn all the carbon off the mantle.
Did the truck start, run and drive today. Still have about half a tank of gas. Slowly drawing it down but will add my generator gas to it as soon as the hurricane season is over.
Probably should start working on another HEB delivery order soon. Just about a week since the last one but I still seem to have a decent supply of food on hand. Might make it a bit longer.
Looking for my pay check but nothing has showed up yet. Never seems to be consistent. Will eventually get here. Always has.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
