Can confirm. No rain today.
Sep. 11th, 2020 10:56 pmI'm pretty sure today we didn't get any rain. At least I didn't see anything on radar that passed over us. I did see what looked like a decent line of showers heading this way but didn't make it over us. Still looks like a couple of decent chances for rain on Sunday and Monday. And like always there are the thundershowers. Do seem to get lucky enough to catch one of those and get a decent rain out of it.
Going to lift my moratorium on talking about the National Hurricane Center's map to talk about what is going on and hopefully give myself some peace of mine from all the storms. First Disturbance one is mostly just kind of a low pressure area and isn't given much chance of developing. Plus it is going to move to the south west off shore. Don't know if that is what is bringing us the chance of rain on Sunday and Monday or not.
Tropical depression 19 is probably going to become a tropical storm. The spaghetti models show that it could make a Cat 1 hurricane but just barely. The spaghetti models pretty much take it straight into Louisiana. The models mostly agree and with only three days out to deviate from the models at this stage they do tend to be accurate. Also we are outside of the cone of uncertainty. Still there is always a chance.
Paulette is forecast to move north west and then turn north east and maybe passing over Bermuda. Rene is probably going to move north too but wonder around a bit first. Invest 95L spaghetti models shows that it is eventually going to turn north too and go up the coast. Disturbance 3 looks like it is going to follow Paulette and Rene. It has been such an active season and really just coming into the peak season. Probably going to stay up late enough to see the next posting for Disturbance 19 or at least get up to see what it is and then go back to bed. That is my update. Now on to other things.
I had my cheese sandwiches today. Use the last of last orders bread. Just a nice tradition to have. Enjoy my cheese sandwich Friday. Got my soap mixed today and in the "oven". Got to remember to take it out after about 24 hours. If I wait too long it becomes really difficult to cut into bars. Might need to order some more of my oils before I can make another batch but I ought to be good with my soap supply for a while.
Didn't really do any housework outside of putting a few things away and rearranging some items so I could mix my soap. Today was an eBay day. I got some material in for one of the experiments I am trying. Got that running right now using the power from my solar system. I think the batteries can power it for a long time. The batteries also supply my entertainment center too and lose power due to the vampire loses of that system. Don't want the voltage to drop too low. It has been cloudy these past few days but enough sunlight to keep the system fully charge. It won't be that much longer until the shadow of the house starts to shade my panels. Have to switch to line once that happens.
Trying to remember what I burned for incense today. I think one of them was Vanilla and the other was Jasmine. Ought to write those down. I think my fresh supply of incense should be in tomorrow. At least that is what the eBay tracking says.
Only got one junk call today.
Partnering with major insurance companies. Something about getting lower rates.
Gold seems happy staying just about where is has been. Doesn't really seem to want to break out of that range. Crude is still back. About where it was yesterday. Don't know if gas prices have dropped accordingly yet. Nothing at all available in the way of platinum coins from my merchants outside of the American Eagles. Seems to be a really high demand. Can't find much of anything.
Was going to watch a rocket launch tonight but there was no live video. Might be something on YouTube now. Couldn't find anything. Don't know if it launched tonight or not. No dates for much of anything in the near future. I do enjoy watching them launch.
Actually watched a bit more Star Trek on CBS All Access. Haven't done that in awhile. Also have been watching some of the Weather Channel just to keep up with all the goings on in the Atlantic and Gulf. Really do need to stay informed. Probably watch a bit more tonight before going to bed.
Did my usual truck start and drive today. Been staying with that. Might have to add some more gas before too long. Still have my generator gas but this time I might just chance direct from the gas station. Was kind of nervous about doing that with the old gas still in the truck. And have to be careful at the gas station too.
Checked into work today and it looked like everyone was working today. Normally people don't work on Friday so maybe things have picked up somewhat at work.
