One more day and no rain to report.
Aug. 26th, 2020 10:12 pmAnother day that turned out to have no rain. I think it even had a better than normal chance to rain too. Tomorrow has a decent chance for rain too. Need to get a little sometime in the not to distance future. So far have managed to get the rains timely enough not to have to water. Need to get another in the next few days. Looks like the best chances for rain are going to be tomorrow and Sunday. The following week looks like it is going to be pretty dry. So far though the only rain I have gotten has been the afternoon type thundershowers. Nothing like a front or something bringing in rain.
Laura has become a very dangerous storm and is probably going to come ashore on the east side of the boarder. Have been watching the track all day. It is now probably just a few hours away from the eye-wall crossing over land. Something else out in the Atlantic. A tropical wave. Just about the peak season but maybe a few days before it starts again.
Gold seems to have found a trading range and doesn't seem like it is really going to move out of it. Not showing the increase in price that it has in the recent past. Crude made a move out of its trading range today and I think set a new recent high. Trading just somewhat higher now probably because of Laura.
Unusually quiet outside tonight. I opened the garage door to listen and really didn't hear the crickets at all. Maybe their entertainment season is over. I can still hear the Gecko's chirping though. Still seems to be plenty of them. Wind is not really making any noise either. Just seems to be gusting a little bit more than the usually calm steady winds we get. The occasional plane flying over but haven't hear that tonight.
Now for two whole days in a row I haven't gotten any junk calls. Starting to wonder what is going on? And of course no political surveys either. I really don't mind those if they don't go on too long.
No eBay today. And I only order one new item. My Morgan City silver dollar shipped today. Looking forward to getting that. I think I have another one but I am not sure. Will be a nice coin to add to my collection. Might get something in tomorrow. I do follow the tracking so I kind of know when something is coming in.
No incense today. At least I don't think so. Seems like the day had been kind of a lazy day. No lap cat today either but Fozzy always comes late. No project work today. Don't think I did any kind of house cleaning. Did spend some time watching the weather channel though. Texted with Gary. Weather. Texted with Ashley. Books. Got to figure out how to listen to that book.
Suppose to be a rocket launch today but postponed. Maybe a launch every day for the next week or so. That will go a long way to satisfy my craving to watch rocket launches. And I think the Star Liner may do another hop soon. Watched them bring it back to the launching pad.
Still wishing and hoping for another Houston Museum of Natural Science auction. But nothing so far.
Probably have to put together another HEB delivery order this Sunday. Generally about every ten days or so. They generally always seem to be available unless I really want the order the next day but for that there is Favor although I have never used them.
Kept up my schedule of running and driving the truck today. Need to keep doing that to keep the truck in shape. My electric is charged to its 90% limit just in case we lost power. Still could rig something to charge it from my solar system but very much limited on how much I could charge it. Don't have enough panels in place to charge continually with the batteries taking the occasional swing of a cloud passing over or something. Probably need about a thousand watts of panels to make it work. Kind of a dream of mine to put in a solar system to keep my car charged. I don't think it would ever pay for itself although it would do double duty to provide power to the house. Kind of make it a grid tie system.
Looks like my precious metals merchant had a few more platinum coins available but most are the American eagles and are much more over spot that other platinum coins but they are available.
I think that is going to do it for tonight.
