We got rain today. I think this was part of the tropical disturbance that is supposed to be moving inland today or soon if it hasn't already. We got just under a quarter of an inch. Not bad at all as any rain is welcome at this point. The yard can certainly use it. We just got the very bottom lobe of a cell that passed to the north of us but enough of it to bring us some useful rain. Only a few spots of rain show on the radar in this area but between 2:00 am and 3:00 am we are supposed to get scattered showers. This looks like it is going to last most of the day. Maybe this is the disturbance moving over us. And it looks like another line of storms are going to move through the panhandle tonight.

Right now the National Hurricane Centers map shows three disturbances. Two of those are likely to move over this area. Nothing and now we have three. This happens so got to check often. The closest is forecasted to bring heavy rains. I have my rain gauge now so I only have to look at it to report the rain. It does look like the Saharan dust has moved off to the the west leaving us with certainly less dust in the air for now. Looks like more is on the way.

The non Star Link mission actually launched today and was a very successful launch. The booster was the same one use to take the astronauts to the space station. Very much fun to watch them launch. Everything just fine and the satellite is on its way to its final orbit. So I have watched two launches in the last two days. Several more launches scheduled in July but not sure which of those I can watch.

It was an eBay day today. Not a part for a project but just something I wanted. Did actually do some significant project work today. Modified my solar array somewhat for a experimental fun type project. Modification complete and everything works. Still need another part though to make any more progress. Well, there are a few things I can do while waiting and I might do those tomorrow.

Today was a very heavy incense day. I burned Vanilla, Dragon Blood and Jasmine. I actually think this might have been the first time I have burned three in one day. And of course I used my trusty strike anywhere matches to light them.

Another Gary text day. Weather. No car talk today.

Lawn company didn't come today. Usually on Monday or Tuesday though. Might get rained out tomorrow but they generally come late in the afternoon on Tuesday.

No Star Trek today. Did watch some of Ken Burns' The National Parks on PBS. He has a way with documentaries. And now that I think about it I missed my game show, The Wall. Just have to try harder to remember.

Heard kids outside tonight. Not much else.

Gold and crude report. Short tonight. Crude about where it has been. Gold probably set a new high. Of course above $1800 an ounce.

Going to have a very full recycle bin to put out this week. Already full and still trying to catch up. Maybe the following week I can.

I think that is going to do it for tonight.
