Far from rain.

Didn't get any rain today and looking at the radar it didn't look like much of the surrounding area had rain either. The next decent chance of rain is not until the following Monday and I don't know how they can predict that far out but at least they can give it a number. Perhaps I should take my rain gauge down. Maybe that will bring rain. Looks like it is really going to warm up for the next five or so days and then cool down for several days. But this is summer here.

The orange thing on the National Hurricane Center's map has now been changed to red meaning it has a higher chance now of becoming a tropical depression. Looks to be the only thing active on their map at the moment.

I think it is a very noisy night outside although I really can't hear it inside. I stepped outside for just a moment and it sounding like the cicadas were really out tonight and singing the song of their people. Not sure if I can hear it inside or not. I can hear some cars go by. Don't think I do. Something about the full moon bringing them out? Don't really know.

Got paid today. Never seems to happen on the same day so I guess I can say I don't know how they decide. Sometimes on the first and I have seen it as late as the tenth. I guess as long as it eventually shows up.

And the trash pickup did happen today. Kind of guess they had a full truck. Did set my trash bin out and put it on the front porch. Going to stay there a day of so before I bring it in. Got more than a load of recyclables to put on for Saturday pickup.

My inverter generator showed up today. Don't know when they actually delivered it. I just looked out on the porch and it was there. Not an eBay item so I can't say this was an eBay day. Ebay does have those but I didn't think to look there. And with a quick check I see that eBay does sell the exactly same one I bought. Next HEB delivery I probably need to get the right type of motor oil because I don't think I have any. Hopefully I won't need it before I get the chance to get the oil. Seems to be lighter than my old (new) one. I have never used the old (new) one either. Got it just on the chance I might need it.

I pretty sure crude oil set a new recent high. Not a high for the year as it has a ways to go before it does that. I know it is about as high as I have seen it in the last several days. It looks like gold just passed the $1800 an ounce mark. Been watching it the last several days as it got close and thought it would eventually. Well, today it did. Still thinking about buying some platinum coins. Nothing really fancy just the bright uncirculated coins. It would either be a Canadian Maple Leaf or a US American Eagle.

Today's lap cat was Fozzy on multiple occasions. I think he is getting to like it.

No incense today.

The Falcon 9 Starlink Mission was scrubbed today because of bad weather. The launch is now scheduled for July 11th. Did want to see it launched today but have to wait just a few more days to see it launch.

Should get some more project material in on Friday. Didn't do any project work today. But I did catch the very end of The History Detectives on PBS. Always an interesting show and also watched some Barn Wood Builders.

Lots of text with Gary discussing electric cars. Tesla versus Bolt. He is leaving for Dallas tomorrow. One of his super charging stations provides free coffee. Nice benefit. My CCS stations are becoming more common not that I will every really need them. Don't really drive long distance any more but glad to see the network expanding anyway. His supercharging stations take the car up to about 80% and then slow way down. Really not good to supercharge a car all the way to 100%.
