Radar showed some close showers.
Jun. 14th, 2020 11:17 pmAs usual there were some afternoon showers that showed up on radar and not really too far away but we didn't get any rain. It was mostly sunny although I did see a few clouds outside. And a quick check of the tropics doesn't show anything. Might be something brewing there but evidently not worth a mention. It is the time to keep a close watch on the gulf. Storms can really come out of nowhere. The next really good chance for rain is not until next Saturday. Although the afternoon heating type showers seem to be able to show up at anytime. Still going to have a few more reasonably cool night but going to disappear soon.
I burned incense today. Thought I would do some black cherry since it really does smell nice and makes the house feel good. Need to put in an order for more of that because I do like it. Still plenty good on strike anywhere matches.
What would I do without eBay. Just everything there. Want it, eBay will have it. At least it seems that way.
No lap cat participants today. Some days are like that.
Worked on a few projects today. Downloaded a new operating system for my Raspberry Pi 4. Still playing with it. Still have a copy of the old operating system though. Consolidates all my music into a single area. Did some house cleaning on all of my USB drives. Sure have a lot more space that I thought on them. Amazing how storage technology has change. In high school running programs on an IBM 1401, just a really massive machine, we had a disk drive that was a big as a school desk and the platter was as big as small car tire. It stored an amazing, well, at the time, a total of 500 K. And today I was looking at a tiny SD card that stored 32 gig. That would have been and was unimaginable back them.
Found a few of my old Python programs that I used for my fireworks shows. And some pictures. I need to move all the pictures in my camera to an USB drive. And camera resolution has changed so much too. Really hard to keep up with it all.
I still have some of the old floppy disk. Just to have them. I think they stored something like 360 K if you used both sides but I don't really remember. I don't think anything exist anymore that can actually read them. But they were what we had. And they were cool.
Texted with Gary some today. Talked a lot about work. Wondering if they have forgotten about us since we have been out so long.
Took my usual drive this morning. Always try not to go too terribly far. So nice to have an electric. I am still amazing at how practical of a car it really is. And The cost of the battery pack is coming down. My next vehicle (I say that because I don't know if it will be a car or a compact truck) will most certainly be an electric. Just far too many advantages outside of longer trips and right now the cost.
Don't think the gas prices went up. Don't really remember but I don't think they have changed since the last time I looked. Crude is down a few dollars.
Cleaned up the kitchen today and did a load of dishes.
Didn't make any virtual visits today. I know some places have more extensive use of the google street view type of technology than other sites. And are really geared towards virtual touring. Have to think of some more places to go.
Wow, Just did a search and came up with all kinds of virtual tours. Some look very interesting. Found a site yesterday that has all sorts of web cams for Galveston.
Doing a bit of research the next Falcon 9 launch is supposed to be on June 22. And then there is suppose to be another one on June 30. Lots of launches to remember.
I think that is going to be it for tonight.
