Rain starting now.
May. 28th, 2021 10:51 pmLooks like we are going to be in for quite the torrential rain tonight. Starting now and plenty of rain back to the west and moving this way. We also got some rain this morning but not just a lot but it was still some rain. The radar showed spotty showers over the area but we only got that one rain. No outside temperature reading tonight for the same reason for the last several nights so going to the airport for the official temperature. So it is 76°F with 90% humidity. I don't really know how that works since it is raining outside and seems like it should be 100% humidity. Rain lasting to somewhere around 2:00 but the storm is moving fast. More above average rain chance all of next week too. Not really cooling of that much at night. Ready for the storm I guess. Never got the car out because I didn't do any shop work today at all. Not going to get it out for a drive. Might be just pouring down rain according the the weather service. Memorial day always seems to be prime flooding time.
Got three items in today. Got my DVI to HDMI adapters, my pattern following bit from Rockler and my open box grinder from eBay and also ordered another bit. Seems that the one I ordered from Rockler has been on backorder so long it has expired on PayPal. So I ordered one from a different manufacturer on Rockler and since I am really annoying waiting so long on that bit I ordered another one from eBay. Hopefully one of the two will come in for me. Got just a ton of items on eBay I am awaiting. I count six. Should all be in next week.
Adding items to my HEB delivery order. Released it yesterday for a Monday Delivery.
Did do a drive yesterday. Still a lot of moon out and bright.
Paid my AT&T bill yesterday.
No lawn company today or landscaper.
Not bins out for tomorrow. Not enough in my recycle bin or my trash bin to put out.
No wood working today at all. Wanted to make a stand for my latest ping pong ball project but didn't.
Did do some house work. Cleaned up the kitchen and vacuumed part of the den. Changed bed sheets on my bed. Swept up the kitty litter. Twist just throws it out when he goes. Fozzy doesn't do that.
No lap cat today. And I got at least one junk call today. Always seem to get the same one every day.
Still think about how I should set up my laser projector. Got to move some stuff around for sure.
Lots of thunder outside. Radar puts us in the heavy part of the storm.
Was going to open the garage door and look at the rain but the power just went out. Flickered three times trying to reset and couldn't so it just went out. Switched everything over to my backup power. Now will really get to put it to the test and see if my four kilowatts of backup power are really there. I will be watching my volt meter. And if lose that I will switch to my lead acid batteries. I should have power for a while with both of those systems. My inverter can handle 1000 watts so I should be good.
Quite the light show outside. Unfortunately all my light towers really aren't working. I think I can connect at least one of the really quick.
Got two of my light towers working and now have lights in the house. Forgot that my source is 36 volt and my lights are 12 volt. Have to run them off of a set down transformer. Took awhile to hook that back up but do have light now.
Gold edged back up into $1900 an ounce by just a little. Crude made another run at its 52 week high but fell back a bit below where it started.
Tomorrow is the 29th of May. Meaning May is just about over.
Had my cheese sandwich today. Ran out of cheese but include that in my HEB delivery order. Still have a few more days to add items if I need to.

The next watchable launch is a Falcon 9 on June 3rd.
For project work today I got my new monitor working. Had a problem with the display adapter and it didn't want to work. Swapped it with my other one and both worked. Don't know why. Nice little monitor but really small. I got it cheap and wanted something inexpensive. Works just fine. Played with the code and got my relays all sorted out on my light sequencer and it is working nicely. Just have to write more code to see what I can make it do. Want to create random numbers and make random lights flash on and off. Also cleaned up by work table just a little. Will work on my radio project tomorrow. Want to make it work on button pushes.
I think that is going to do it for tonight. Going to disconnect my computer from backup so just my phone and modem will stay connected.
