Dec. 2nd, 2020

It rained in the morning and again in the afternoon here. I converted to the scientific method of measuring rain fail in that I now weigh my rain gauge and calculate the rainfall knowing the dimensions that I need. And after setting up a spread sheet to make it easy it looks like I got just about an identical amount of rain both times. Just 0.44 inches of rain twice today. And it looks like that is going to be the end of the rain for probably about the next 10 days or so. Temperatures are forecast to stay a little bit colder until then too. Was pleasant today and a good day to be in the shop. Tomorrow and the next few days look like it could be a bit cool to be out there but I think I can manage some time in my shop. I am getting ever so close to finishing my blanket chest but I still need to get a new tool to see if it will work before I can finish my chest.

Today was not an eBay day but I did get a project related package in today. Not from an eBay order though. I did win another bangle auction so it looks like I am going to have just a few bangles for Ashley on their way here. I have the one tool outstanding from an non-eBay company and a lot outstanding now from eBay. Items will probably be trickling in for the next month or so. Might get an eBay item in tomorrow according to the tracking.

Cleaned up my dishes some today and will probably run the dishwasher tomorrow. Did a little straightening. Recovered my trash bin and move it to the porch. Stay there for a few days. So I did do a bit of housework. And I also folded and put away a load of whites. Probably need to do a load o t-shirts soon. A little project work today. But not much. Just checked the charge on a few batteries.

Got Fozzy the lap cat with me now. Doesn't really seem to miss any opportunity to get in my lap. Don't mind him at all. Feels nice to have him. He is an affectionate cat. Twist doesn't get in my lap in my office but will if I set on the floor and pet him.

No sounds of the night but I thought I heard the wind when I was out in my garage. Still have to sort out my shop and put the car up. My outdoor temperature gauge says it is about 53°F outside. Suppose to get colder tonight. I might put up my tent tomorrow since it looks like no rain in the near future. Might let the yard dry for a day or so more.

Going to have to pause soon and put my car up.

Gold is trading above $1800 an ounce now. Seems to jump around a bit. Crude gained just a bit but hasn't moved much really in the last few days.

Next launch is scheduled for the 5th. Falcon 9.

Tired today. Been busy all day. Cooked dinner tonight. Have enough for tomorrow dinner too.

Should start an HEB delivery order soon. Seems like I order every 10 days or so.

Viewing pleasure tonight was more episodes of The Flash, a Nova episode about the Roman Coliseum and YouTube videos.

Might have the basic box of my blanket chest finished tomorrow. Still have a lot of work to do. Sanding, cutting, fitting and finishing but have got a lot done. Should turn out nice. At least get the top put together and trimmed to size.

Pause to sort out the shop. Got that done and the car put up.

Windy and cold outside.

Didn't pay any bills today. I still have the lawn company to pay but as cold as it is outside decided I didn't want to drive to the post office tonight to mail it. Got to write a check and address an envelope too plus add a stamp.

Text with Gary.

Car is not on charge. Did check out the latest Bolt. Still a year away from having to make that decision. Since I don't really drive much an electric will be good. Don't have to worry about the gasoline going bad. I should add my generator gas to the truck. Hurricane season is now over. Hopefully that is true. Truck is below half a tank so it should hold it all.

I think that is going to do it for tonight.
