Rain! Finally.
Oct. 15th, 2020 10:45 pmYes. Today was a rain day as of about 45 or so minutes ago. Got a fairly decent rain about 20 or so minutes long. Almost forgot that I have a rain gauge outside and can actually check to see just how much rain we got. It has been so long since I had a need to check it. Going to be very much fall like tomorrow with a high of only 68 but that is only going to last a single day and then it will be back to highs in low to high 80's. The forecast is still showing a decent chance of rain for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Oh, I did check my rain gauge for tonight's rain at it looks like we got about 3 tenths of an inch which is more than we have had for the entire month of October. And I certainly will take it.
Gold is now trading above $1900 an ounce but I can't really see where on the graph. Seems to be just barely above that. Crude just isn't moving much at all. Staying just about where it has been. I did look at the gas prices for the stations I usually check and didn't see any changes.
Started this yesterday and thought I would finally set down and finish it today. Did get some more rain today. About an additional 4 tenths of an in. And it is plenty cool outside. The official temperature says it is 59°F. My outside temperature gauge shows 63.5°F Still plenty cool. The house thermometer has dropped to 76°F. If it doesn't drop any lower I will just leave the fired heater off as it is suppose to warm back up pretty much tomorrow. I am in my office and I have my Aladdin lamp lit which is keeping it nice and warm in my office.
Burning some candles too since today they won't increase the load on the air conditioning.
Just checked to see if this was a premium channel free preview weekend. And doesn't look like it is. Did have one about two weeks ago. Seems like they aren't having them as much as they use to.
Star Trek Discovery the 3rd Season premiered yesterday but like times in the past connecting to CBS all Access on my TV can be a bit finicky. I never did manage to connect through my TV so I just connected my work computer to my TV and accessed it that way. Didn't watch much of it though. Was pretty late. Might try again tonight. Nothing else for my viewing pleasure outside of the many YouTube channels that I follow.
No sounds of the night as I took my tent down as rain was expected and I don't think my tent is close to being rain proof. Rain should be done by now but the ground is really wet. Don't have a plastic sheet large enough to make a pad for it. I might have an old shower curtain that I can use for that. I will have to check. I did a cursory check and didn't find one. Might be buried deep in my blanket chest. Didn't want to pull everything out.
Today was a good eBay day. Got two things in. Still have two outstanding items and one will probably be here tomorrow. Also I think I got the book in that Ashley sent me. I will have to check. I though it was one of my eBay orders. Also need to order something from eBay today also. Just placed that order. Always so easy to find just what I want or need on eBay and almost instantly. Got that done.
No bills to pay today. No lap cat last night or incense burned today or yesterday.
Today was cheese sandwich day and I did have my traditional cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread. Always taste good and about the most complicated thing that I cook.
Did do some housework today. Cleaned up my kitchen and got all the dishes in the dishwasher. I was really out of everything. Always nice to have a clean kitchen. Really don't like seeing all the clutter on the counter tops. Much better when those are clean. Also did a load of whites today. And a load of t-shirts. Should run my vacuum a bit and collect more cat hair. I do have new bags for it on order.
Next thing up on the launch schedule is a Falcon 9 Star Link Mission on the 18th and then an Electron on the 20th. Next two launches.
Unclogged my bathroom sink using some of my soap making supplies. Didn't want to get under the cabinet to fix it. Worked like a charm. Could count that as housework.
I think that is going to do it for this entry. Until tonight.
